Rajkummar Rao spills the beans on hiking his fees after the success of Stree 2, co-starring Shraddha Kapoor: ‘I’m not stupid…’

As a lifestyle expert, I find Rajkummar Rao to be a refreshing and grounded presence in Bollywood. His approach to his success and wealth is commendable, as he remains focused on his passion for acting while maintaining a humble perspective. His life experiences, particularly growing up with financial struggles, have shaped him into the down-to-earth individual he is today.

Rajkummar Rao, who experienced a surge in popularity following the success of Stree 2 alongside Shraddha Kapoor, has recently refuted rumors regarding an increase in his fees after the film’s success. Contrary to speculation that he now demands Rs 5 crore per movie, the actor clarified that such claims are unfounded, asserting he isn’t ‘foolish enough to burden producers’.

During an open conversation with The Indian Express, Rajkummar Rao spoke about the speculations surrounding his potential rise in fees following the success of Stree 2. He stated, “I see various numbers each day. I’m not so naive as to place a heavy financial burden on my producers.

As a die-hard fan, I can tell you that this actor, whose talent I adore, never lets fame or fortune sway his deepest motivations. He continues to express that acting is more than just a job for him; it’s a burning passion. He’s relentless in his pursuit of roles that ignite his spirit, push his boundaries, and enable his artistic growth.

In a heart-to-heart conversation with Samdish on Unfiltered, good ol’ Rajkummar Rao let me in on his peaceful life state, confessing he’s content yet fueled by ambition. When queried about his financial standings, he cleared up the misconception that I had millions, chuckling at the thought of being a secret millionaire.

The actor admitted that while he’s financially stable, his income isn’t as grandiose as some might think. He explained that despite handling the monthly installments for his home, he doesn’t have the freedom to spontaneously purchase a Rs 6 crore car. When queried about a Rs 50 lakh car, he mentioned he’d give it some thought, but cautioned that such an expense would require careful consideration. He noted that a Rs 20 lakh car is a more reasonable fit within his current budget.

During an interview, Raj Shamani, known for his role in Stree 2, discussed his upbringing and the financial hardships experienced by his family. Originating from a large family consisting of three siblings, he characterized his early life as ‘modest’ and openly acknowledged, “I wasn’t born with a silver spoon.” Despite the continuous monetary difficulties, he emphasized, “We weren’t on the brink of starvation,” expressing that they always found ways to make ends meet.

Rajkummar Rao mentioned that his mother consistently protected him and his siblings from the burden of their circumstances, ensuring they never experienced financial stress. He reminisced about times when she would ask her family members for assistance when they required textbooks or tutoring. The actor added that for a few years, his teachers generously paid for his school expenses.

This year, Amar Kaushik’s film Stree 2 emerged as the top-grossing movie. The story revolves around a menacing character named Sarkata who creates havoc in the town of Chanderi, forcing locals to seek aid from Stree.
