For the very first time, R&B legends Brandy and Monica will be sharing the stage as co-headliners in a joint tour, as they announced on CBS Mornings earlier this week.
Referred to as “The Boy Is Mine Tour,” reminiscent of their 1998 chart-topper, this tour will see performances from Kelly Rowland and Muni Long, in addition to Jamal Roberts, fresh off his Season 23 win on American Idol. The Black Promoters Collective will be producing the show.

Brandy expressed that this tour feels like coming full circle,” she stated. “Performing alongside Monica isn’t simply about the music; it’s about acknowledging our origins and the progress we’ve made since then. ‘The Boy Is Mine’ was a pivotal part of R&B, and standing on stage together after so many years is more than just a reunion – it’s a tribute to our personal growth, our sisterhood, and the love our fans have shown us from the very beginning.
The upcoming 24-concert tour starts in Cincinnati at Heritage Bank Center on October 16 and ends in Houston at the Toyota Center on December 7, passing through cities like Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Brooklyn, among others. Ticket sales begin on June 27 at 10 a.m., local time, via Ticketmaster. A presale will be held by the Black Promoters Collective one day prior, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., also in the local time zone.
Brandy and Monica too released a short film, duration two minutes, directed by Ethan Tobman. In this movie, these vocalists were shown imprisoned, kept in different cells within a penitentiary. The song “The Boy is Mine” served as their key to escape their restraints and ultimately reunite them.
The fact that ‘The Boy Is Mine’ remains popular means the world to me. This tour is a tribute to our past, our influence, and the fans who have journeyed with us. Brandy and I have each followed our own distinct paths, and reuniting like this serves as an emblem of the importance of respect, strength, and authentic music. We’re fulfilling the requests of our audience, doing it with elegance, affection, and conviction. It seems that God’s plan has brought us together at just the right moment.
Last year, “The Boy is Mine” experienced a resurgence in popularity when Brandy and Monica collaborated once more to remix the track as part of Ariana Grande’s “Eternal Sunshine” album.
During our recent collaboration, there was significant progress in bridging the differences,” Monica expressed during her interview with Entertainment Tonight last year when discussing working alongside Brandy for the remix.
Shelby Joyner, president of Black Promoters Collective, stated that uniting Brandy and Monica for this tour goes beyond just a moment; it’s a significant cultural reunion. Their influence on R&B is immense, and ‘The Boy Is Mine’ remains one of the most legendary collaborations ever. At BPC, we prioritize honoring culture and legacy, and this tour serves as a potent illustration of both.
