‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’ Moves to End of June 2027

As an ardent fan, I have to share some exciting news about Miles Morales’ upcoming movie adventure. Originally scheduled for June 4, 2027, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will now grace our screens a bit later, on June 25, 2027 – moving its release date back three weeks to give us fans even more anticipation!

As a passionate advocate for family fun during the summer, I’ve heard whispers that a later date might be optimal for welcoming school-going children. This is because many schools are still in session in early June, making it difficult for families to plan vacations at that time. Moreover, this later date seems more attractive on an international level as well.

Sony’s Spider-Verse series stands as one of its most prized possessions. The 2018 release, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, clinched an Oscar for best animated feature and grossed a staggering $393.6 million worldwide, largely due to its groundbreaking, dynamic animation style that continues to be celebrated today. The 2023 sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, was equally successful, raking in an impressive $690.5 million globally, underscoring the ever-growing popularity of the franchise over the five years between films.

Four years following the nail-biting conclusion of “Across the Spider-Verse,” we’ll get to see “Beyond the Spider-Verse.” Directed by Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson, this film is penned from a script crafted by franchise architects Phil Lord and Chris Miller in collaboration with David Callaham.

Alongside the transition to Spider-Verse, the studio has additionally scheduled the release of the animated film titled “Buds” for March 12, 2027.
