Avengers: Doomsday Rumor Reveals Chris Evans’ MCU Return Status

It appears that Chris Evans might not be finished with the Marvel Cinematic Universe just yet, as a new rumor about Avengers: Doomsday suggests his possible return. This upcoming Marvel Studios’ superhero film, now in production, seems to hint at the veteran actor’s potential comeback.

What is the new Avengers: Doomsday rumor about Chris Evans?

As suggested by MyTimeToShineHello’s report, there’s a rumor that Evans might reprise his role in Avengers: Doomsday. If this turns out to be true, he will join Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Hemsworth as the only actors who have appeared in every MCU Avengers film. Nevertheless, it remains undecided which character Evans would portray in the upcoming fifth Avengers movie.

In the upcoming movie titled “Avengers: Doomsday,” the talented duo Joe and Anthony Russo, who previously directed “Avengers: Endgame,” are at the helm. The screenplay is penned by Stephen McFeely. A notable change in the storyline will see Robert Downey Jr. portray a distinct character – Victor von Doom, also known as Doctor Doom. Other stars joining him include Evan Rachel Wood (Pascal), Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Paul Rudd, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Letitia Wright, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, Kelsey Grammer, Lewis Pullman, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, and Danny Ramirez.

The sixth edition of the series is set to bring back actors such as Patrick Stewart (as Charles Xavier), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), James Marsden (Cyclops), and Channing Tatum (Gambit). Although these actors were revealed in the popular casting announcement video, Kevin Feige has hinted that there are still more cast members to be announced in future announcements.

Currently, it’s planned that Avengers: Doomsday will hit theaters on December 18, 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars will follow suit on December 17, 2027.
