Covenant: The Last Flame is a dark fantasy game with a strong focus on storytelling. Like World of Warcraft, it divides players into two opposing sides – the Horde and the Alliance. However, the story in Covenant isn’t as complex or detailed as in Warcraft.
If you’re new to the game, you’ve probably already gotten some powerful characters (the game developers are pretty good about giving those out!). But figuring out which ones are worth keeping and which aren’t can be tricky.
That’s precisely the reason I made this Covenant: The Last Flame tier list – to help you decide which characters to use in your team.
If you’re still figuring out which heroes are best, don’t worry, I can help! It’s also important to remember that you don’t need the absolute best heroes to build a strong team. Even lower-rarity heroes (SRs) can be very effective if you upgrade them properly.
It’s definitely simpler if you already own a powerful card like the Red Dragon Queen (Ultra Rare), but getting one will likely be a challenge.

Covenant: The Last Flame tier list breakdown
Because you’ll build a team of 5 heroes, you have to balance damage dealers, tanks, and supports in the best way possible.
This list ranks heroes from the very best (S+) down to the least effective (C). We’ve judged them based on how well they perform, how well they work with other heroes, and how strong they are later in the game. Let’s get started!

1 S+ tier

| Name | Rarity |
| Red Dragon Queen | UR |
| Nocturnal Soulbinder | UR |
| Evilhunt Warblade | UR |
| Flurry Blademaster | UR |
| Scarlet Swordwarden | SSR |
| Shining Plumed Moon | SSR |
| Rampart Whiteox | SSR |
| Ice Saintress | SSR |
| Eternal Bronze | SSR |
The Red Dragon Queen is a powerful damage dealer who sacrifices some of her own health to inflict significant damage on enemies. She excels at hitting multiple targets at once, and with a good support hero, she can overcome almost any challenge.
Nocturnal Soulbinder is a powerful Rare unit that excels in both player-versus-environment (PvE) and player-versus-player (PvP) combat, with a particular strength in PvP. She can disrupt enemy actions and inflict significant damage simultaneously. With the right equipment, her damage output is exceptional, and she boasts impressive crowd control abilities.
2 S tier

| Name | Rarity |
| Thunder Spirit Lancer | SSR |
| Lord of Emerald | SSR |
| Crimson Knight | SSR |
| Mogu Trader | SSR |
| Black Dragon Prince | SSR |
| Felfire Duke | SSR |
| Luna Huntress | SSR |
| Enchanting Succubus | SSR |
| Froststar Dragonling | SSR |
Crimson Knight is a top-tier defensive tank. Her shield ability makes her dependable, and her Aura boosts the HP and physical defense of her allies, creating a strong barrier against physical attacks.
Black Dragon Prince (SSR) is a Magic Tank character, much like Crimson Knight. However, instead of focusing purely on defense, he also applies Burn damage over time. While not as durable as Crimson Knight, he offers a good balance of damage and support, boosting the Magic Damage Resistance and Magic Defense of his allies with his Aura.
3 A tier

| Name | Rarity |
| Alchemy Gnome | SSR |
| Star Chaser | SSR |
| Paladin | SSR |
| Archdruid | SSR |
| Scourge Monarch | SSR |
| Cinder Knight | SSR |
| Weaving Spider Queen | SSR |
| Totem Priest | SR |
Paladin (SSR) is a dependable tank, as his name implies, specializing in reducing magical damage. He excels at keeping the team alive by healing the ally with the lowest health, making him a strong choice for both tanking and support roles. Overall, he’s a very effective character and ranks highly in our Covenant: The Last Flame tier list.
Archdruid (SSR) can be a powerful ally in PvE if equipped properly. She’s a ‘summoner’ type character, meaning she creates thorns and plants to either damage enemies over time or restrict their movement. While her abilities are strong, she really shines in specific team compositions, especially those focused on Magic Damage.
4 B tier

| Name | Rarity |
| Glowing Saintess | SSR |
| Tidal Queen | SSR |
| Devouring Firebow | SSR |
| Immortal Beetle | SSR |
| Winter Witch | SSR |
| Storm Shaman | SSR |
| Runeflame Fireplume | SSR |
| Primeval Warrior | SR |
| Red-Eyed Hunter | SR |
| Engineering Master | SR |
| Wind Spirit Ranger | SR |
| Rageblood Troll | SR |
| Sorcery Assassin | SR |
Winter Witch is a powerful character for hitting multiple enemies at once, but her overall strength isn’t quite enough to carry you through the tougher parts of the game.
Storm Shaman is a close-range damage dealer, similar to a warrior class. While he can hit multiple enemies at once, his abilities are generally weak except for a shield he provides to himself and one teammate.
5 C tier

| Name | Rarity |
| Ancestral Servant | N |
| Pillar of Gaia | N |
| Gust Blade | N |
| Merc Warrior | N |
| Sniper | N |
| Ensnaring Magus | N |
| Darkfire Demoness | N |
| Silvermoon Crossbow | N |
| Umbra Shaman | R |
| Einherjar Warrior | R |
| Frostpeak Dwarf | R |
| Fear Fiend | R |
| Swift Fox | R |
| Daybreak Handmaid | R |
| Tidefury Siren | R |
| Bloodlust Waraxe | R |
| Murloc Guard | SR |
The heroes at the very bottom tier are mainly for increasing your Collection Level. They won’t be helpful once you reach the mid or late game. While you’ll likely start with Merc Warrior, that’s about all the use you’ll get out of them. They can help trigger some early-game combinations, but it’s not worth building a team around these heroes – it just won’t be effective.
If you’re like me and want to know who’s the best in the game, you should definitely check out our tier lists for Elpis: Fallen Star and Eclipsoul – they’re super helpful for seeing all the top characters!
