Dark Web Drug Lord Forfeits $150M in Crypto After Guilty Plea

Banmeet Singh, aged 40 and extradited from the UK, confessed to running a huge dark web drug ring. Cells of his organization’s activities across 50, states Canada and beyond covered running the sale of fentanyl LSD and other drugs on Silk Road, Alpha Bay, Hansa. His illegal work took him from 2012-2017, when Singh strictly regulated shipments coming from Europe.

After his arrest in London UK in 2019, Singh was extradited to the US five years later. He pleaded guilty, all to charges of conspiring to distribute drugs and launder money. Singh also consented to the forfeiture of mind-boggling $150 million worth in crypto and represents a first insofar as concern is concerned about DEA seizure.

This case was conducted by collaboration of US and UK agencies that marked a global impact in the battle against dark web crime.
