Elpis: Fallen Star tier list (October 2025)

If you’re playing Elpis: Fallen Star, you’ve probably noticed that some characters are much more helpful than others. Certain characters will be key to success in challenges like Abyss runs and player-versus-player battles, while others won’t be very effective.

While the game isn’t visually stunning, it has a certain appeal that fans of gacha games will appreciate.

Despite its simplicity, the game has a certain charm. If you’ve played for a while, you might have noticed it’s not overly complex, but that shouldn’t be a problem if you enjoy the cute, chibi-style combat!

How this Elpis: Fallen Star tier list works

This list prioritises how good the characters are in end-game content, across all modes (Abyss, PvP, story).

That’s why how well characters work together and the teams you build are so important. But don’t dismiss characters just because they’re ranked lower – they can still be really effective in certain situations, even if they’re not strong in everything.

Here’s how the tiers break down:

S+ tier

  • GhostSamurai
  • Darkwing
  • Ivorywing
  • Jessica
  • Saico

GhostSamurai excels in close combat, dealing significant damage while also being very durable. Her special ability, Soul Resonance, not only heals her but also protects her whole team by reducing incoming damage, making her a huge asset in challenging battles. She’s incredibly self-sufficient, and that’s why she’s considered one of the best characters to play.

Ivorywing is a unique tank because she can both withstand attacks and deal significant damage. She gets stronger with increased defense and can boost the power of Ironclad (Green) teammates, making her ideal for durable team compositions. While she might not deal as much damage as dedicated damage dealers, her ability to stay alive makes her a valuable asset.

Jessica plays a unique role, combining support and frontline capabilities. She boosts her team’s performance while also being able to hold her own in battle. She’s similar to GhostSamurai, but focuses on consistent, dependable support rather than high damage – a solid, all-around character who anchors your team.

S tier

  • GhostQueen
  • Teostra
  • Freya
  • Delis
  • Nebula

GhostQueen (different from GhostSamurai) is a free character you get at the beginning of the game. She’s designed to deal a lot of damage – she’s a pure DPS character – and also recovers a small amount of health. Her area-of-effect (AoE) damage is particularly impressive.

If you’re starting the game, I highly recommend choosing Teostra as your guaranteed 5-star character. He’s a strong, front-line fighter who can both withstand attacks and deal significant damage. Plus, he can slow down enemies, making battles easier.

Nebula is a 4-star character, but she deals as much damage as many 5-star characters. As a Blue character, she strengthens Ghosthunter allies. Her Leader Skill boosts their Attack and Critical Rate, providing a significant advantage in later stages of the game.

A tier

  • Timmy
  • Vee
  • Souffle
  • Falcon
  • Lexie
  • Mihal
  • Tequila
  • Kasha
  • The Absolver
  • Flark
  • Ciel
  • Eclipse

These choices are strong and reliable. While they might not be the absolute best, they can still be very effective with the right support and development.

Timmy’s effectiveness with her Victory Gambit can be inconsistent, but she offers solid area-of-effect attacks, making her a viable character. Her primary damage output comes from damage-over-time effects, which aren’t always ideal depending on the situation.

Vee’s effectiveness depends heavily on luck, which keeps her from ranking higher. She’s a damage-dealing character who uses Magic Orbs to inflict damage over time. While she works well with Timmy due to their shared focus on damage over time, her Red affiliation holds her back.

The Absolver is similar to Timmy, but not quite as strong. Like Timmy, she inflicts damage over time with Hydro attacks, and the amount of damage increases with her attack power. While her Leader Skill is useful, she’s generally a fairly standard character.

B tier

  • Arlen
  • Kaguya
  • Kuki
  • Seki
  • Aria
  • Rum
  • The Hymnkeeper
  • Valessa
  • Opera
  • Skylark
  • Gima
  • Robin
  • Reppuu

The B tier consists mainly of 4-star characters, though there are a few exceptions. I wouldn’t suggest spending a lot of resources on these characters, as you’ll likely only use them when you’re first starting out.

I enjoy playing Skylark from this group of characters. Her special ability, Precision Shot, gets stronger the more often you use her basic attacks. Once you build up five stacks of it, she can become a pretty effective damage dealer.

Robin is a durable character who reflects damage back to attackers when her health gets low. She also has naturally high defense, making her strong early in the game, especially if you collect multiple copies of her.

C tier

  • Nelissa
  • Emily
  • Marco
  • Emma
  • Sigrid
  • The Merciful
  • Ophelia
  • Susie
  • Lena
  • Haidee
  • Lumia
  • Lulu
  • Jasmine
  • Annis
  • Tina
  • Phinis

Don’t bother investing resources into these characters. At most, you can use duplicate copies to upgrade them, which you’ll likely acquire over time. These characters are mostly lower-tier (2-star and 3-star) and you probably won’t use them much beyond collecting them.
