Forbes Report Unveils Changpeng Zhao (CZ) 94M BNB Holdings

As a crypto investor with a few years of experience under my belt, I’ve learned that the crypto space is often shrouded in mystery and controversy. The latest news about Changpeng Zhao (CZ) and Binance Coin (BNB) has certainly piqued my interest.

According to a recent Forbes examination, Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the previous head of Binance, holds approximately 64% of the total Binance Coin (BNB) in circulation. This amounts to roughly 94 million individual tokens.

According to a probe conducted by Gray Wolf Analytics, this report disclosed that Binance’s inception team was originally given 80 million BNB tokens, with the corporation retaining 46 million of those initial coins. It’s worth noting that Zhao and Binance collectively hold approximately 71% (or 103.9 million tokens out of 147 million) of the existing BNB tokens.

As an analyst, I would rephrase it as follows: I’ve calculated that each Binance Coin (BNB) is currently valued at around $602, and with over $91 billion in circulation, this puts Binance’s founder, Zhao, among the world’s wealthiest individuals. His 90% ownership of Binance, along with his substantial crypto holdings, adds up to a staggering net worth of approximately $61 billion.

Additionally, the price of BNB has surged, rising from approximately $290 at the beginning of the year to a high of $724 in the current month.

Following his legal issues with the US Department of Justice (DOJ) in 2023, Zhao admitted guilt and paid a fine of $50 million for alleged violations of sanctions and money laundering. The consequences included a four-month prison term.
