Idle Horizons tier list (November 2025)

Idle Horizons is a delightful auto-battler with a retro pixel-art style. Building a powerful team is key to success, so understanding which heroes are the strongest (and weakest) is important. To help you do that, I’ve organized the heroes by how rare they are, making it easier to find the best ones.

How the Idle Horizons tier list works

When I put this tier list together, I didn’t just pull numbers from a spreadsheet – I leaned in on my own time in the game. Some heroes just clicked for me in certain modes, while others felt underwhelming no matter how much I tried to make them work (and I did!).

I wanted this list to reflect more than just my own opinions, so I spent a lot of time reading what other players were saying. I learned what they liked, what they found difficult, and which heroes they recommended, and that really influenced the final rankings. Ultimately, this list is a combination of my own experience and the feedback from the wider player community.

So, here it goes:

Legendary heroes

As I said earlier, this is all about team building, but everyone’s curious about the strongest hero. In my opinion, Lumina is the clear winner, no matter what. She performs incredibly well in both player-versus-player and player-versus-environment battles. If you can, equip her with a charm that gives 100% resistance penetration.

Shade is currently a very strong hero in player-versus-player combat, though we don’t have a lot of detailed information about their performance yet. We may need to re-evaluate this assessment as more data becomes available, but right now, they seem quite powerful.

There are some very strong Epic heroes that top our Idle Horizons tier list.

Terra and Aegis are currently the strongest damage supports. Aegis, a recent addition, is performing at Terra’s level.

Elix is one of the best supports too – just not as strong as Terra.

In most games, heroes with lower rarity aren’t very powerful, but Idle Horizons is different. For instance, Zephyr is actually considered one of the best support characters, even at +7 stars.

Another very solid hero is Sigmund, who’s considered to be A+ for PvE and S tier for PvP.

While ‘Uncommon’ heroes aren’t generally top-tier, a couple stand out. Bell and Himmel are both really good tanks you can rely on, and Himmel has a slight edge over Bell in terms of overall performance.

Generally, people view those without noble titles as worthless, with Prince being the notable exception.

You’ll only need these heroes when you’re first starting out, before you unlock stronger ones.
