Law And Order: SVU Guest Star Keke Palmer Is Still Obsessed With The Show, And Even Slid Into Mariska Hargitay’s DMs A Couple Of Years Ago

As a long-time gamer of TV shows and a dedicated fan of Law & Order: SVU, I can’t help but feel a profound connection with Keke Palmer’s story. Like many others, I remember being captivated by her heartfelt performance on SVU back in 2005, even though I was just a kid myself.

The television series “Law & Order: SVU” is continuing its run with season 26 in the 2024 TV lineup, and it looks like it won’t be stopping anytime soon. Given the show’s massive popularity, featuring stars like Taylor Swift, this isn’t much of a shocker. Even Keke Palmer, who previously appeared on “SVU,” is a devoted fan, going so far as to reach out to Mariska Hargitay on social media years ago.

Actress known for her role in “Nope” made a guest appearance on “Law & Order: SVU” back in 2005, at the tender age of 12. In Season 7, Episode 10, she portrayed the eldest sister of three girls who were abducted from New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina and transported to New York. Interestingly, the show had already left a mark on her even before she joined its cast, as she had endured sexual abuse a year earlier when she was just 6 years old. In an interview with “Us Weekly”, she shared that she felt starstruck while filming on set.

Olivia Benson, she was my detective character. You can understand the sentiment, right? On the film set, I needed my mom to calm me down because I was almost speechless with awe over Mariska Hargitay. She was incredibly talented and kind.

Apart from enjoying what seemed like her most loved program, young Palmer not only starred in it, but she even collaborated closely with both Hargitay and Meloni. This was because her character played a crucial role in helping Benson and Stabler track down the kidnapper.

Back then, it felt like a magical, unforgettable moment – something I’d treasure forever. Turns out Mariska Hargitay held onto that special memory too. Later on, I was fortunate enough to share a pleasant interaction with her when I sent her a message through her DMs:

About two years ago, I sent a direct message to Mariska: “Hey Mariska, do you recall we worked on Law & Order together? I just wanted to express that I adore you and think about how kind you were back then, I hope everything’s going well with you.” And she replied, “Keke, absolutely I remember! I’m incredibly proud of you and all your accomplishments.” It was heartwarming.

As a gamer putting on my SVU cap, I must say it’s mind-blowing that after 20 seasons filled with hundreds of guest stars, Mariska Hargitay can still recall Keke Palmer’s role. It just goes to show what an unforgettable performer Keke is, a fact we all came to realize in Joyful Noise!

Personally speaking, I’m yearning for Keke Palmer’s comeback on SVU. Whether she reprises her role from when she was 12 or takes on a brand new character, I’m all for it. To be frank, I just can’t wait for this wish to become reality!

It’s not unexpected that Palmer, being one of several former child stars who continue acting today, might pop up again on SVU or any other show within the Law & Order series. But for now, no plans have been announced. Interestingly, her willingness to return seems probable given a friendly message she sent Hargitay a few years ago.

With streaming services like Peacock at their disposal, subscribers are able to catch Keke Palmer’s episode of Law & Order: SVU, appreciating the talented young actress she was and continues to be. Here’s hoping for a future opportunity where her journey intersects with Mariska Hargitay’s once more.
