Whenever you consider basketball, it’s these legendary figures who instantly come to mind – LeBron, MJ (Michael Jordan), Durant, Shaq, among others. The roster just keeps growing.
When considering NBA 2K, it’s about constantly striving to emulate the greatness of these basketball legends by creating a player capable of mirroring Michael Jordan’s jump, Shaquille O’Neal’s slams, or becoming a prolific three-point shooter like Stephen Curry, the cooking maestro.
2K is offering you the opportunity now to leave the esteemed company of NBA’s Mount Rushmore legends behind, and create your own legend in a fresh MyCAREER narrative titled “Heart of a Dynasty.” You can seize their thrones!
NBA 2K announces Heart of a Dynasty mode to rival the best of the best
MyCAREER’s primary objective has consistently been to create a player capable of dominating globally and reaching the pinnacle of basketball greatness. Now, you have an opportunity to assess your accomplishments alongside the greatest-of-all-time (GOAT) basketball players.
In “The Heart of a Dynasty,” you’ll embark on a journey tracking a player’s roots from High School, propelling them onto the grandest stage in the NBA. Your mission is to build a career that surpasses the legendary achievements of Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls and the ’80s Lakers’ Showtime team.
In the Dynasty Rankings, your team could ascend the pages of historical record, being judged alongside legendary outfits like the Harlem Globetrotters, and other top-tier teams that are revered as the best ever.
In the future, the MyCAREER mode will reinstate its popular Key Games aspect, but with enhanced improvements, providing gamers with greater freedom and autonomy in shaping their in-game careers.

In NBA 2K25, a fresh “Takeover System” is being introduced. As players showcase their skills on the court, they’ll enter peak performance, or “red-hot form”. Each player will possess a Takeover Meter that gradually fills up across five levels. This meter provides extra advantages at each level, enhancing gameplay.
In NBA 2K25, you’ll have access to 72 unique Takeover abilities and 14 Signature moves that allow you to customize your gameplay experience, enabling you to establish a legendary reputation for your MyPlayer, even surpassing the great Michael Jordan. This game will challenge your skills to the max.
