8 Things the TV Cameras Missed at the Golden Globes

2025’s Golden Globes were filled with unforgettable instances, not all of which made it onto the CBS broadcast. Among them were heartwarming encounters between Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner, as well as a reunion of Zendaya’s cast from Euphoria that sparked engagement rumors. The Hollywood Reporter managed to capture these lesser-known yet significant moments happening off camera. Here are some highlights that didn’t air on TV.

    Say “Cheese,” Timothée Chalamet

Indeed, the CBS cameras undeniably caught Timothée Chalamet and his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, seated together at their table during the event. However, what wasn’t shown in the official broadcast were some heartwarming instances that surfaced on X. At one point, Jenner, known for her massive 395 million Instagram followers, captured a candid shot of Chalamet with a real camera as Elle Fanning looked on. Another moment revealed Jenner sneaking in a sweet kiss. As a devoted fan, I wish I had been there to witness these intimate moments between this adorable couple!

    Last Minute Touch-Ups for ‘Babygirl’

Just as the live broadcast was about to begin, a team member from THR attempted a hurried visit to the ladies’ room to avoid missing any of the stage performances, but found it locked. The explanation given at the door was that Nicole Kidman was inside receiving “last-minute adjustments.” It seemed unnecessary, as Kidman looked stunning on the red carpet in a silvery ensemble by Balenciaga. No information was provided about who might have been with Kidman inside the restroom, but we did find out about her hairstyle. Celebrity stylist Adir Abergel used Bellami’s silk seam clip-ins in shades vanilla latte and golden hour to style the vintage updo for the nominee of Babygirl.

Zendaya Hangs With Pals, Sparks Engagement Rumors

Zendaya, the star of “The Challengers”, was thrilled by her nomination for best female actor in a musical or comedy film at the Globes, marking her return since 2016. Throughout the evening, she was spotted socializing with friends such as Colman Domingo (her co-star from “Euphoria”), Ayo Edebiri, and even Adam Sandler. Before her category was called, she managed to squeeze in a wardrobe change, swapping her red carpet Louis Vuitton gown for an embroidered dress. Additionally, Zendaya made headlines with another accessory – a diamond ring worn on her engagement finger, leading to speculation about her relationship status with Tom Holland. Representatives for Zendaya have been contacted by THR to confirm the news, and we will update if any information is shared. In the meantime, it appears that Max, the platform hosting “Euphoria”, has hinted at good news with an Instagram post showing the ring and the caption, “I have never, ever been happier.” We share in her joy!

A First for a Hollywood Award Show? Live Leader Board

Within the International Ballroom, attendees were privy to a sight usually reserved for journalists following major events: A running total of studio victories, or ‘Winners from the Globes’ as displayed by THR’s Scott Feinberg. The screen revealed Netflix in the lead with successes from Emilia Pérez, Baby Reindeer, and Ali Wong’s comedy special, among others, trailed closely by FX/Hulu for Shogun. Although this scoreboard might seem familiar in a sports arena, it marks a novelty for a Hollywood award show.

Adrien Brody and Parents Watch Best Picture Win

After delivering a heartfelt speech for his best actor award, Adrien Brody rejoined his parents who he had acknowledged during his speech onstage. The trio then witnessed as their A24 production, The Brutalist, was declared winner of the best picture drama category. Brody released his mother’s hand to embrace his father before walking up the stage with Brady Corbet and other members of the Brutalist crew.

Tilda Swinton Gets on Her Feet for Fernanda Torres

In contrast to predictions that Angelina Jolie or Nicole Kidman would win the award for best actress in a motion picture drama, it was Fernanda Torres who emerged victorious for her performance in the movie “I’m Still Here.” This unexpected victory caused Sony Pictures Classics to break out in applause, and even fellow nominee Tilda Swinton stood up to offer Torres a standing ovation.

Quick Catch Up for Adam Sandler and Seth Meyers

As a devoted fan, I can tell you from experience that being present at the Golden Globes is more than just about winning awards; it’s also an incredible opportunity to reconnect with friends, comrades, and fellow artists in the industry. And let’s not forget the thrill of taking home some shiny new trophies! Prior to the grand event, I found myself sharing laughter and moments with my fellow nominees for stand-up comedy specials, Adam Sandler and Seth Meyers. Benny Safdie was there too, observing the fun.

Stars Dined on an A-List Favorite: Nobu

At the Golden Globes, rubber chicken dinners are no longer an option. Instead, the event, known as the “party of the year,” has significantly upgraded its menu under the guidance of renowned chef Nobu Matsuhisa. He carefully selected dishes from his famous Nobu restaurant for this year’s event. The menu included yellowtail jalapeño, Nobu caviar tacos, a sashimi salad with Matsuhisa dressing, Tai Matsuhisa-style nigiri, salmon nigiri, tuna nagiri, and miso black cod.
