As a longtime fan of John Stamos, I’m absolutely thrilled to see him embarking on this new venture as the chief innovation officer at Zeam. His journey in entertainment, from his early days performing puppet shows for local news to becoming a household name on Full House, is a testament to the power of local programming and its ability to inspire and uplift people.
John Stamos is not only accomplished in acting and music, but he also aims to expand his professional profile by taking on the role of a streaming executive.
Stamos will take on the role of chief innovation officer at the new local streaming platform Zeam, owned by Gray TV. In this position, he will work on broadening Zeam’s content offerings and will represent the company in marketing initiatives as their public spokesperson.
As a huge fan of technology and innovation, I’ve been eagerly following the news about Zeam since its launch earlier this year. I was thrilled when I heard that they had managed to snag none other than John Stamos for their Super Bowl commercial! And can you imagine my excitement when I learned that it was during the filming of that very commercial that Stamos met Zeam’s founder, Jack Perry? That’s right, folks, these two dynamic individuals hit it off and decided to take their connection to the next level. Their story is a testament to the power of serendipitous encounters and the potential for great things when the right people come together. I can’t wait to see what they accomplish together!
Perry shared with The Hollywood Reporter that he and his team have recently established a collaborative partnership where we’ve been brainstorming and refining the vision for Zeam, exploring potential new content, features, and ways to foster a stronger sense of connection to users’ homes.
At Zeam, my job is to connect influential figures in the entertainment industry with the platform, helping us grow and provide more entertainment for a larger audience. The team at Zeam handles the day-to-day content creation. Before being appointed as the chief innovation officer, I had already introduced Jack to numerous contacts I’ve built up over my career. My belief that the show business community would recognize and appreciate Zeam proved correct.
Zeam broadcasts news, weather, sports, and entertainment content from local stations in 165 markets. Perry mentioned that Stamos’ background as a sitcom star on “Full House” was valuable because he grasped the significance of local programming. In his words, “He knows that one ABC affiliate represents 209 other affiliates, which proved to be a significant advantage as we began collaborating.”
Stamos expresses his agreement with local programming, a feature lacking in several prominent streaming platforms according to him.
“I’ve had a long-standing affection for local news. My initial foray into entertainment was putting on a puppet show at a church fair, which was featured in our local TV station. Catching a glimpse of myself on the small screen boosted my self-confidence and fueled my ambition to make it big in television. The puppet act, however, was soon left behind.”
“Perhaps there’s an unexposed talent similar to John Stamos, waiting to be discovered through local news, instilling in them the same self-assurance and motivation that I experienced.”
The actor expresses his hope that the service can assist in keeping people connected to their roots, enabling them to stay updated on local news that matters to them or their loved ones, regardless of their current location.
