Kevin Feige Reviewed Deadpool And Wolverine, And His Comments Have Somehow Made Me More Excited For This ‘Sweet’ Sequel

As a long-time Marvel fan and someone who has followed the development of the Deadpool character since his comic book debut, I’m thrilled to my core for the upcoming movie “Deadpool & Wolverine.” The trailers and marketing materials have been nothing short of brilliant, showcasing the undeniable chemistry between Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. If this sequel delivers on its promise, it could very well go down as one of the best Marvel movies ever made.

As a dedicated gamer and avid movie fan, I can’t hide my excitement for the upcoming Marvel film, “Deadpool & Wolverine.” Here’s why: The previews and promotional content have knocked it out of the park so far. Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s chemistry in the trailers is off the charts, making me crave more. The lewd Deadpool & Wolverine popcorn bucket was an instant success, leaving no doubt that this sequel will be a home run. If they manage to pull off a flawless execution, this movie could join the ranks of the best Marvel films ever produced. And to top it all off, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is now hyping up the film, focusing on aspects beyond the language. His comments have left me buzzing with anticipation!

Before Marvel makes its comeback to San Diego Comic-Con towards the end of this month, Kevin Feige discussed with Deadline about the grittiness inherent in “Deadpool & Wolverine,” the first R-rated film within the MCU (even though the previous two Deadpool installments had earned their R ratings). However, it was his remarks regarding the completed movie that have piqued my curiosity and heightened my anticipation. Feige described Shawn Levy’s “Deadpool & Wolverine” as:

Hugh and Ryan have discussed the film’s raw and honest aspects, which are evident in the trailer and press tour. While it carries an R-rating with some strong language and violence, the movie deeply explores themes of friendship, family, and found family. I like to describe it as the most heartwarming R-rated production you’ll ever come across. The humor may grab attention initially, but once viewers experience the film, they will be touched by its emotional depth. In my perspective, this offering surpasses the first two Deadpool films in terms of sentimentality. I eagerly anticipate audiences discovering the film’s genuine warmth after being drawn in by the R-rating and explicit content.

I’m not surprised by this turn of events. The first two Deadpool films, thanks to Ryan Reynolds’ portrayal, heavily emphasized Wade Wilson’s connection with Vanessa (Morena Baccarin). This relationship fueled Deadpool’s motivation in “Deadpool 2,” resulting in the amusing mid-credits scene where they quip about naming their future child Cher.

At CinemaCon’s Disney/Marvel panel, we shared that the film “Deadpool & Wolverine” opens with Wade and Vanessa having gone their separate ways. She’s now seeing someone else, but the reason for this is not disclosed. The trailers suggest that Wade requires Logan’s assistance to protect those dearest to him. However, it’s no longer just about saving Vanessa; the entire “Deadpool” cast is at stake.

As a longtime fan of Marvel Comics, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming release of “Deadpool & Wolverine” in theaters on July 26! Having grown up reading the adventures of these iconic characters, I’m eager to see how they will be brought to life on the big screen.
