- Dusk is an upcoming mobile multiplayer app that’s recently raised serious cash
- It offers natively playable multiplayer games for you to enjoy with friends
- But can these custom-made games entice you to play? We’ll have to see
As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I’m always on the lookout for new and innovative multiplayer experiences. The announcement of Dusk, the mobile social multiplayer platform created by Bjarke Felbo and Sanjay Guruprasad, has certainly piqued my interest. Having fond memories of their previous companion app for PUBG and Call of Duty Mobile, Rune, I’m intrigued to see what they have in store this time around.
Modern times favor mobile multiplayer experiences, and entrepreneurs Bjarke Felbo and Sanjad Guruprasad aim to seize this opportunity with their latest creation, Dusk. This new app, which has recently attracted significant investment, functions as a social platform for mobile games. Users can easily join forces with friends and engage in lively gaming sessions.
For those who may recall, Felbo and Guruprasad previously developed the companion app for PUBG and Call of Duty Mobile named Rune. Although Dusk is significantly distinct from Rune, their earlier project managed to attract over five million installs before it was discontinued. Consequently, Felbo and Guruprasad bring some valuable experience to the table with this new project.
Dusk is more than just a game platform; it’s where you can both play and create games. Imagine it as a smaller version of Xbox Live or Steam, but unique because the games are specifically designed for this app. You can even chat with friends and team up with them effortlessly while enjoying these custom-made gaming experiences.
The only problem
The main issue we’ve identified regarding Dusk is its dependence on lesser-known games, such as mini-golf and 3D racing. While these genres may have potential, they don’t compare to the more popular titles that many are used to.
I’ve discovered that Dusk has an appealing feature for me as a user: the ability to play across different platforms, including browsers, iOS, and Android. With other social platforms like Discord exploring game integration, a straightforward and uncomplicated solution for gaming with friends could prove quite popular. Let’s keep an eye on its development.
