As a devoted fan of Tyler Perry‘s brilliant storytelling and groundbreaking representation of Black experiences, I couldn’t be more ecstatic about BET’s latest move to expand the reach of Perry’s shows! The announcement that two new FAST channels, BET Tyler Perry Drama and BET Tyler Perry Comedy, will make Perry’s extensive library available on a free streaming platform for the first time is truly momentous.
BET is expanding the reach of its shows from Tyler Perry.
Paramount-owned outlet, currently under its control, is introducing two new FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television) channels. These channels, named BET Tyler Perry Drama and BET Tyler Perry Comedy, will make Perry’s entire BET and BET+ series collection available for free streaming for the very first time.
Approximately 600 hours of episodes from Perry’s shows “Sistas, The Oval, House of Payne, Ruthless, All the Queen’s Men, Zatima, Assisted Living,” and “Bruh” will be available on the two channels. Additional series produced by Perry for TBS and OWN, such as “Meet the Browns, The Haves and the Have Nots,” and “For Better or Worse,” will be added to the FAST channels at a later time.
As a dedicated fan, I’m ecstatic to share that the integration of Tyler Perry’s content into our FAST channels marks an exciting milestone in our collaboration. Personally, I can’t contain my excitement as we open up a new path for Black audiences to engage with Perry’s creations. Moreover, this addition brings more flexibility and convenience for our viewers to access our original programming.
In April, Perry struck a fresh content collaboration deal with BET. This arrangement saw the extension of several series and the introduction of a new scripted series named “Route 187” for production. Through this contract that lasts until 2028, Perry will continue to create new projects as well. Additionally, he holds an initial television look-in deal and a film commitment at Netflix, alongside a four-movie agreement with Amazon.
Two Perry FAST channels can be accessed through Roku, Pluto TV, Plex, TCL, and Amazon’s Freevee. Additional platforms will be added in the future.
