Having grown up in New York City, I’ve seen my fair share of iconic MetroCard designs and the retro entry beacons that have become synonymous with the city’s rich history.
NYC-focused brand Only NY faces increased demand for their latest local collaboration, the MTA Table Lamp, which sold out swiftly last week. In response, Only NY has made this popular MTA-branded home decor item available for preorder once again.

Approaching the vintage MTA entrance signals from the 80s and 90s, the uniquely crafted lamp continues the trend set by Only NY’s latest home decor success – the DSNY Home Trash Can, which has also gained popularity as a compact desk accessory.
I’d describe the lamp as having a frosted glass top adorned with a vintage Metro ‘M’ stamp, printed on it. The base is made of iron and intricately branded using laser etching. Lastly, it comes with an orange braided cord ending in a dimmable switch. Take a closer peek at the lamp in the gallery above.
You can buy the Table Lamp collaboration between The Only NY and MTA at $168 USD on Only NY’s main website, and you can place your pre-order until this week ends, which is on July 19. Pre-ordered items are estimated to be shipped around November.
