The Killer Pulls No Punches in First Trailer For Peacock’s John Woo Action Film

The Killer Pulls No Punches in First Trailer For Peacock's John Woo Action Film

As a huge fan of John Woo’s action masterpieces, I can hardly contain my excitement for his upcoming reimagining of The Killer, exclusively available on Peacock next month! Nathalie Emmanuel’s portrayal of Zee, the Parisian assassin, is bound to leave us in awe with her fierce and captivating performances we’ve come to know from her roles in Game of Thrones and Fast & Furious.

As a huge fan, I can’t help but notice the abundance of stunningly choreographed slow-motion scenes, intricate stylization, and graceful doves soaring through the air in John Woo’s latest trailer for his reinvention of “The Killer.”

Next month on Peacock, the upcoming film introduces Nathalie Emmanuel from “Game of Thrones” as Zee, a notorious Parisian assassin with the chilling moniker “Queen of the Dead.” In a rare display of compassion, Zee spares a blind girl (Diana Silvers from “Booksmart”) during an assignment for her clandestine boss (Sam Worthington of “Avatar”). However, this act of mercy ignites a lethal battle against every assassin in Paris. Furthermore, Zee’s mistake brings unwanted attention from a cunning police investigator (Omar Sy, known for “Jurassic World”).

Emmanuel described Zee to IGN last month as a woman who has led a secluded life, with only a few acquaintances at most, due to her profession as a contract killer. Her proficiency in this line of work is unmatched, and she follows a strict set of rules when given an assignment. In the film, Zee faces a moral dilemma when asked to eliminate someone she believes does not deserve it. Despite her reservations, she struggles with the decision.

Eric Cantona, Tchéky Karyo, and Grégory Montel acted together in various films.

When Can You Watch The Killer on Peacock?

I’m excited to share that starting August 23, 2022, on Peacock, you can witness John Woo’s fresh take on his iconic 1989 action film, “The Killer.” Please note, this isn’t connected in any way to the David Fincher project with the same name. I can hardly wait to immerse myself in this thrilling journey once again!

Matthew Stuecken, Josh Campbell, and Brian Helgeland penned the screenplay for this production. Woo and a team including Charles Roven (Oppenheimer), Alex Gartner (Uncharted), and Lori Tilkin deFelice (Silent Night) produced it. Terence Chang, Mark Gordon, Matt Jackson, and Robin Mulcahy Fisichella served as executive producers.

On NBCUniversal’s platform now, there are two monthly subscription options: Premium, priced at $5.99 with ads, and Premium Plus for $11.99 without ads and the ability to download select titles. For students, there’s a special deal – an entire year of Premium for only $1.99!
