The Duffer Brothers Is Teaming With Netflix For A New Horror Series
According to a press statement by Netflix, the Duffer Brothers are slated to create a new Netflix series titled “Something Terrible Is About to Unfold” based on an original idea from its executive producer Haley Z. Boston. Boston has previously contributed to “Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities” and worked on both “Brand New Cherry Flavor” and “Hunters.”
In the week before their wedding, a bride and groom will encounter ominous events. The series, which has an “atmospheric” and “psychological horror” tone, is being produced by the Duffer Brothers. Having been fully engaged with “Stranger Things” as creators, writers, and executives producers, they have yet to dedicate their time to anything else. I’m excited about their vision for this new project.
I was taken aback when I read through Haley’s script for the first time. Her unique voice as a writer left me speechless, a captivating blend of terror, humor, and the unexpected. Feeling fortunate to be part of her debut production, I can hardly contain my excitement to bring her distinctive vision to life and introduce it to the world.
I can’t help but feel exhilarated by that! And me too, I’m just as eager as you are to discover what lies ahead from the Duffers in their next project. The thought of more terror and suspense for the fans of “Stranger Things” truly gets my heart racing.
The One Request I Have For The Stranger Things EPs
I’ll be sad to see “Stranger Things” come to an end, but if the Duffer Brothers believe it’s time for the story to conclude, I understand and respect their decision. It’s important for shows not to overstay their welcome just because of popularity. However, I can’t help but hope that “Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen” involves some of the incredibly talented cast members from “Stranger Things.” I’m eager to see more of their amazing work with the Duffer Brothers.
After the final episode of Stranger Things, I’ll be sad not to see the original or new cast members like Maya Hawke and Joseph Quinn on my screen regularly. While some may move on to other projects following the show’s end, I value the way filmmakers like the Duffers reuse their talented actors. I believe they understand their strengths and weaknesses best, and for Season 5 alone, they plan to produce almost eight movies with the main cast.
As someone who grew up in the 80s and is always on the lookout for a good throwback series, I can’t help but be excited about the upcoming season of “Stranger Things” on Netflix. With my own childhood memories intertwining with the Duffer Brothers’ masterful storytelling, it feels like I’m right back in Hawkins, Indiana.
