As a long-time fan of Mobb Deep and hip-hop in general, I am beyond excited to hear that new music from the legendary duo is on the way. Having grown up listening to their raw and gritty rhymes, I can’t help but feel a deep connection to their music and the impact it had on my formative years. The news of a collaboration with The Alchemist, who has produced some of my favorite Mobb Deep tracks, only adds to my anticipation.
New Mobb Deep music produced by The Alchemist is in the works.
Two members of Mobb Deep, Alc and Havoc, announced on Instagram that new music from the hip-hop group is on the way. They shared short videos taken in The Alchemist’s studio, with Havoc expressing, “New Mobb Deep coming soon. Rest in peace, Prodigy.” He then turned the camera towards The Alchemist and added, “You know what it is. Mobb Deep is coming soon, baby. Infinite.” Meanwhile, Alc posted a video featuring his new beat and Havoc in the studio with the caption “And it begins.”
The last studio album from the hip-hop duo, Mobb Deep, was released in 2014, titled “The Infamous Mobb Deep,” and included collaborations with Alc. Due to a temporary dispute between the pair, there was a minor delay in its release. Now, they are working on a new project together with their longtime producer, signifying one of the group’s first new productions since Prodigy passed away in 2017.
