As a massive fan of both Marvel Entertainment and K-Pop, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I heard that Stray Kids would be contributing a song to the soundtrack of “Deadpool & Wolverine.” The connection between the group and Ryan Reynolds has been a delightful surprise over the past few years. I still remember their entertaining mashup performance on “Kingdom: Legendary War,” where Felix paid homage to Reynolds’ Deadpool character. It was such a fun and unexpected twist that brought together two of my favorite worlds.
I’m so excited that Marvel Entertainment finally revealed the full tracklist for Deadpool and Wolverine’s soundtrack! And get this – there’s a long-awaited collaboration on there that fans have been dreaming about for years!
Eight-member K-Pop sensation, Stray Kids, are set to add a fresh track called “Slash” to the soundtrack. This acclaimed South Korean boy band, managed by JYP Entertainment, boasts an impressive background with Deadpool and actor Ryan Reynolds.
In 2021, Stray Kids emerged victorious in the South Korean music competition show “Kingdom: Legendary War.” For episode eight, this boy band presented an exhilarating medley of their popular track “God’s Menu” and Blackpink’s chart-topper “DDU-DU DDU-DU.” Paying tribute to Deadpool, Stray Kids’ member Felix donned the character’s costume for the performance, delivering a humorous intro akin to Deadpool’s monologues from the movies.
Supporters of Stray Kids in the K-Pop scene posted videos to Reynolds’ notice, leading him to respond with “Hello @stray_kids” in a comment. Over the past few years, there have been frequent exchanges between the band and Reynolds on social media. In fact, Bang Chan, the leader of Stray Kids, interviewed Reynolds during his film “Free Guy” promotion.
Recently, Reynolds shared a video on social media featuring Felix and Bang Chan, as well as himself and Hugh Jackman. The trio was promoting “Deadpool & Wolverine” in South Korea. In the clip, Reynolds participates in the popular “passing the phone to” trend by stating, “I’ll hand my phone over to my beloved Australian,” pointing at Jackman first before ultimately passing it to Felix and Bang Chan, who are also Australian. Reynolds accompanied his post with the caption “Chk Chk Boom,” a nod to Stray Kids’ upcoming EP single of the same name.

Among the other artists to be featured on Deadpool and Wolverine‘s soundtrack is Jackman himself. “The Greatest Show” – a song from Jackman’s 2017 movie The Greatest Showman, in which he stars as P.T. Barnum – is among the 18 songs featured on the soundtrack. How that will be incorporated into the movie, it’s still unclear.
