New ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ Trailer: Winona Ryder Recruits Michael Keaton’s Ghost With the Most to Help Her Daughter

As a longtime fan of Tim Burton’s quirky and fantastical films, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I heard that Beetlejuice was making a comeback with a new sequel. The trailer for “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” transported me back to my teenage years when I first fell in love with the original film and its unforgettable cast of characters.

In a fresh sneak peek for “Beetlejuice: Sequel,” we catch a glimpse of Lydia Deetz, played by Winona Ryder, and her daughter Astrid, Jenna Ortega, as they embark on new adventures in the afterlife.

Similar to her mother, Astrid finds herself an outsider among her peers. She faces bullying from a group of unkind girls at her elite school. As they mock Astrid following a cruel prank using Halloween ornaments, the young woman shoots back with a sarcastic remark: “Once you’re all carpooling and dating your Pilates trainers to fill the emptiness within your lives, we’ll see who has the last laugh.”

An new friendship is formed by her, represented by Arthur Conti. It’s through this connection that she discovers the legendary status of Lydia.

At the same time, Lydia must personally bring Beetlejuice into existence to shield Astrid from the Neitherworld. Surprisingly, it seems that this occasion, Beetlejuice is working alongside her in combating an unfavorable being named Delores, portrayed by Monica Bellucci, who holds a questionable history with Beetlejuice himself.

“Lydia pleads with Beetlejuice, ‘I really need your assistance to rescue my daughter, but how can I trust that you’ll keep your promise?’ He reassures her, ‘I swear to you by the soul of my deceased mother,’ and then inexplicably ignites. Alongside Rory (Justin Theroux), they embark on their search through the afterlife.”

At first glance, Beetlejuice seems to have improved his behavior, but he harbors secret intentions to marry Astrid. She dons an elegant gothic silver wedding gown for the occasion. During the reception, Beetlejuice addresses guests holding smartphones, expressing his gratitude for their attendance but requesting some privacy for the newlyweds. Instantly, the faces of the guests are drawn into their devices. What could be a more fitting night for a wedding in the afterlife than one filled with thrills and chills?

As a film enthusiast with a particular fondness for Tim Burton’s unique style and vision, I’m thrilled to learn that he’s at the helm of the sequel to one of my favorite shows, “Wednesday.” The fact that Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the brilliant showrunners behind the series, have penned the script adds even more excitement. Seth Grahame-Smith’s involvement is also a welcome addition, considering his previous contributions to Burton’s films.

Supporters of Burton’s 1988 masterpiece can look forward to discovering fresh chaos in the Neitherworld once the follow-up premieres on September 6.
