As a die-hard fan of Kareena Kapoor Khan, I can’t help but be in awe of her unapologetic candor and undeniable talent. In her latest interview with The Week, she opened up about the double standards that exist in Bollywood for female stars, particularly when it comes to the term “comeback.”
Kareena Kapoor stands out as a successful Bollywood star, authentic in her approach towards her fans. Her genuine style is reflected not only in her acting skills but also in her fashion choices and openness during deep conversations. Recently, she impressed audiences with her captivating performance in the film “Crew.”
In a recent interview, I shared my perspective on an intriguing observation I’ve made in the entertainment industry. I mentioned that unlike male actors, women often experience what are referred to as “comebacks” in their careers. At the age of nearly 44, I’ve been fortunate enough to have my talent and dedication recognized once again.
‘Today I don’t feel any less than my male counterparts,’ says Kareena Kapoor Khan
In an interview with The Week, Kareena Kapoor Khan expressed her thoughts on the term “comeback” being frequently used towards actresses who return to work after getting married and having children. She acknowledged that such occurrences are quite unusual in the film industry.
“Today, I feel just as capable as my male peers. What is the definition of ‘comeback’? Why is it that only female celebrities seem to experience this phenomenon, while male stars don’t? I am married with two children, yet many male actors in the industry share the same family status as me.”

During the same interview, Bebo revealed that she was frequently pigeonholed as being only “Poo” or “Geet” in people’s minds. She also mentioned that the impact of her acting performances were often overshadowed by these beloved characters.
Kareena expressed, “My acting abilities have long been underestimated. Now, I believe people are recognizing me as an artist. At the age of almost 44, I’m capable of delivering a massive hit, and there’s even more to offer.”
