As a massive fan of Neha Sargam, I have been absolutely captivated by her electrifying performance as Saloni Bhabhi in Mirzapur 3. Her intimate scene with Vijay Varma took my breath away and left me on the edge of my seat. In a recent interview with Indian Express, Neha opened up about her experience shooting that scene and I couldn’t help but feel even more connected to her as an artist.
Mirzapur’s third season has generated just the right amount of excitement since its premiere. Sargam, also known as Sargam who unexpectedly ventured into acting, shared that she and Vijay enjoyed working together on set. She observed how Vijay went out of his way to put her at ease. Neha mentioned, “He’d say, ‘I’m scared too,’ to help me relax. Vijay picked up on my nervousness.”
As a dedicated follower of the actress’s career, I can share that she confided in me that Vijay and director Gurmmeet Singh had discussed her role with confidence. She reminisced about the moment she signed up for the show, thinking to herself, “I’ve committed to this project; since it’s not a family drama, I need to give it my best shot now.”
Did you know Neha Sargam never auditioned for Saloni Bhabhi’s role?
During the same interview, Neha shared that she tried out for the role of Madhuri Yadav in Mirzapur and even made it to the final round. She praised Isha Talwar, who ultimately portrayed the character, as being perfectly suited for the part. However, it was actually the director who was impressed by Neha’s auditions and ensured her inclusion in the series.
I had the privilege of collaborating with some incredible talents during my time on Mirzapur, and one of those experiences that truly stood out for me was working alongside Lilliput Faruqui. His body of work is truly inspiring, and I must admit, it was a genuine pleasure to be part of the same project as him.
Mirzapur has brought Sargam significant recognition but not yet promising opportunities. She remains optimistic, believing that suitable roles will eventually come her way. Having made her debut in the singing competition Indian Idol, Sargam went on to appear in various TV shows such as Chand Chupa Badal Mein, Yeh Hai Aashiqui, and Punar Vivaah among others.
