As a long-time fan of The City Girls, I have been eagerly waiting for JT’s solo debut album, and let me tell you, it was worth the wait! With “City Cinderella,” JT has truly shown us her raw talent and authenticity as an artist. Listening to this album feels like a personal journey through her experiences and growth.
In an exciting turn of events, the long-awaited full-length release from artist JT, titled “City Cinderella,” has finally arrived. This marks her initial solo studio project, providing fans with a deep dive into her unique artistic vision.
She expressed her emotions in an Instagram post about “City Cinderella”: “When I listen to this track, it perfectly captures how I feel. I remained true to myself, my roots, and my supporters who appreciated my contribution to ‘Where The Bag At’. I’m overjoyed that it’s been released – it brings me a sense of liberation.”
In her 16-track collection, the artist expresses the same confidence and self-assurance that Justin Timberlake expressed on “Sideways” and reinforced more strongly on “OKAY.” Notably, this project is mostly a solo production, with collaborations from DJ Khaled, Stunna Girl, CLIP, and Jeezy appearing on the remix of “OKAY.”
The City Girls rapper shared behind-the-scenes footage of her album creation this week in a 22-minute documentary titled “The Making of City Cinderella“. This film offers an intimate look into Jatavia Johnson’s transformation into JT. Similarly, the music video for their new release, “90’s Baby”, was dropped today and evokes a sense of nostalgia.
JT is also readying for her headlining The City Cinderella Tour, which kicks off on August 20.
