In a recent podcast episode of “People with WTF” hosted by Nikhil Kamath on YouTube, Ranbir Kapoor shared stories about Rishi Kapoor and described his unique way of showing respect towards him.
In the trailer, Ranbir shares, “My dad had a quick temper, yet he was an extraordinary man. I’ve never been able to describe his eye color.”
He bent his head down and added, “I was always like this. I never said no.”

At a preview gathering for the film “Animal” in Hyderabad the previous year, Ranbir Kapoor spoke openly about his deceased father, Rishi Kapoor.
Ranbir revealed that due to his father, Rishi Kapoor’s frequent travels, they didn’t have the opportunity to develop a strong bond. Sadly, the acclaimed actor of “Rockstar” lamented that they hadn’t spent enough quality time together.
The actor from The Brahmastra film added that while he held deep respect for his deceased father, they had never been on friendly terms.
Ranbir Kapoor called his dad, Rishi Kapoor, the “original troll”
I can’t get over that hilarious moment during a recent episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show when Ranbir made a joke about Rishi Kapoor being the “original troll” before social media was even a thing! It brought back memories of my own childhood, where my dad, after having just two glasses of lemonade, would pick up the phone and tease my aunt over the line. What a classic prankster he was!
For those unfamiliar with him, Rishi Kapoor was known not only for his successful acting career but also for his blunt demeanor and quick temper. The talented actor from the film “Mulk” was identified with leukemia, a type of blood cancer, in 2018 and passed away on April 30, 2020 due to its related complications.
In the year 2023, Ranbir Kapoor appeared in filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s production titled “Animal.” Moving forward, he is set to join the cast of director Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming project, “Ramayana,” which will hit the screens next. Actress Sai Pallavi plays the main character in this film.
