As a dedicated follower of Bollywood and having had the pleasure of interviewing some of its biggest stars over the years, I can’t help but be in awe of Shahid Kapoor’s relentless pursuit of perfection. During my early encounters with the actor, I remember his humility and dedication to ensuring that every interaction he had with the media represented him in the best possible light.

Shahid Kapoor is known for his exceptional acting skills in Bollywood. Starting with his debut role as a romantic lead in Ishq Vishk (2003), he has since transitioned into portraying tough heroes in films such as Kabir Singh, R…Rajkumar, and Deva. His acting journey has been quite an evolution. Yet, it may shock you to find out that during initial interviews, Shahid had his entire session re-recorded.

Here’s why Shahid Kapoor re-recorded his entire interview during Ishq Vishk

Recently, experienced journalist Rajeev Masand had a chat with Shaad Randha of Shaardulogy. During their discussion, Masand shared an amusing experience of re-interviewing Shahid Kapoor because the actor felt uneasy about Masand’s tone during their original interview.

When I first interviewed Deva for my blog back in the early days of Shahid’s acting career during the release of Ishq Vishk, our conversation lasted around 30-35 minutes. Looking back, it was one of my earliest interviews, but little did I know that this encounter would be just the beginning of an intriguing journey. After we wrapped up the interview, the actor humbly asked if he could watch our recording together.

Rajeev remembered how he sat and observed, then expressed his displeasure with the way things were going. We had to do it over from the beginning, explained Rajeev. The journalist noted that there’s a drive for improvement and striving for perfection when someone is attempting something novel.

When legendary Rekha asked to scrap the entire interview 

To clarify his idea more, he brought up an old experience of interviewing the renowned Rekha a few years ago. He shared that the entire interview had been completed when she suddenly changed her mind and requested to cancel it. Rajeev added with a smile, “She rarely grants interviews, and that particular interview is still with me. We planned to conduct another session instead.”

During one of his well-attended roundtables with popular actresses, an older actress lashed out at a younger actress in an unjustified and harsh manner. When the younger actress asked him to eliminate that portion, he consented, recognizing the unfairness of the situation. Although he didn’t disclose the name of the elder actress, he did suggest she is known for her temperamental behavior.

Shahid Kapoor’s work front

In the meantime, Shahid Kapoor is set to appear in the much-anticipated film “Deva,” costarring Pooja Hegde. Helmed by Roshhan Andrrews, this intense action spectacle was initially slated for a release on October 11, 2024. However, the producers have recently announced that they are pushing back the premiere to February 14, 2025.
