As a dedicated fan of Selena Gomez and “Only Murders in the Building,” I couldn’t help but feel a pang of envy as I scrolled through the delightful images of her birthday celebration. The thought of reflecting on long-lasting friendships, surrounded by sunshine and balloons adorned with my name, sounds like a dream come true.
Due to the annual occurrence of birthdays, it’s natural to make each one special by spending it with cherished people. For Selena Gomez, this meant reconnecting with long-lasting friendships from her “Only Murders in the Building” project. Following this, came enjoyable celebrations under the sun, featuring an excellent balloon banner bearing her name. Her boyfriend Benny Blanco contributed heartfelt messages and memories, while Steve Martin’s humor took center stage during the festivities.
On her special day, Gomez posted a heartfelt message on Instagram about self-love. Her fans and famous friends, including Zoe Saldaña from “Avatar,” Alex Guarnaschelli of Food Network, and Kristen Kish of “Top Chef,” among others, showered her with loving comments. However, the most touching message came from her music producer S.O., who expressed his feelings in this heartfelt comment:

what if this “b” doesn’t represent Benny or Blanco, but instead refers to Brazzos, the fictional New York detective portrayed by Steve Martin in the film “Three Amigos!” (Audience members gasp in surprise.)
Based on my understanding of the situation, I believe that response from Martin to Blanco’s birthday post comment, which might seem confusing at first glance and not typical of a seasoned professional like Brazzos, was actually quite insightful and thoughtful.

Perhaps there existed a Brazzos chain, or possibly it was a bike chain, or even a chain of fast food establishments that could have been relevant.

Benny Blanco didn’t just leave a comment on Selena Gomez’s birthday post. He also shared an old post on Instagram reminding us of their interaction in 2019, about four years before they started dating. In the music video for “I Can’t Get Enough,” Benny made a cameo appearance, and this is what he wrote to Selena alongside the throwback post:
