Tracksmith Nods to Olympic Heritage With Its Sophisticated Federation Collection

As a dedicated fan of Tracksmith and someone who has followed their journey since their inception, I am absolutely thrilled about their latest release – the Federation Collection. This capsule is not just a collection of athletic wear, but a celebration of Paris’ rich history and the upcoming 2024 Olympics.

Before the 2024 Paris Olympics, Tracksmith has introduced a collection called Federation. This capsule draws inspiration from the rich history of the Games, specifically the Opening Ceremony. Paris’ fashion traditions and the emerging athletic spirit in the city served as the muse for this brand new line by Tracksmith.

The Federation Blazer, which spearheads the capsule, takes inspiration from the 1924 Paris Olympics and various Opening Ceremonies over the last century. In collaboration with Emilie Hawtin’s women’s tailoring label Clementina, Tracksmith designed a versatile cotton twill jacket suitable for all. Its design is relaxed yet refined, featuring a broad lapel and extended back vent. Tracksmith’s signature elements can be found inside, with white piping and a distinctive golden hare pin emblem.

As a gamer, I’d describe it like this: In my daily life at the Olympic Village, Tracksmith has crafted a cool ’60s-inspired tracksuit just for me. It comes with a matching stretch cotton jacket and pants, both in a dark navy base with golden and white stripes running through them, similar to their Strata racing kit. To add some variety, they’ve also introduced exclusive editions of their iconic Van Cortlandt pieces – a singlet, tee, and shorts for men and women, available only in ivory and blush hues.

An additional tee and sweatshirt from the brand will only be sold at their pop-up shop in Paris, which is being hosted in partnership with Merci. Previously, these two brands introduced a restricted edition timepiece through Wind Vintage. The watch boasts a navy dial and strap made of calfskin leather.

Four athletes supported by Tracksmith’s Amateur Program are set to participate in the Paris Games. Among them are a javelin thrower, a sprinter, a hurdler, and a steeplechaser.

On the Tracksmith site, you can find the Federation Collection now. Priced at $450 USD, there’s a stylish blazer up for grabs. Each track jacket and pair of pants cost $150 individually.
