In an interview with The Week, Kareena Kapoor Khan shared her experience of working on Veere Di Wedding while pregnant. She expressed her eagerness to be part of the project as she has a strong affinity for producers Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor.

The Veere Di Wedding actress shared that when Rhea proposed the role to her, she urged the producer to proceed with the film because of her pregnancy. She added, “The most impressive thing about Rhea was when she said, ‘I won’t make this movie without you'” according to the 43-year-old actress.

Kareena described Rhea as having an appealing and relaxed personality, expressing that the producer possesses an engaging atmosphere. Moreover, she mentioned that Rhea is passionate about producing films that challenge conventional norms and push cinematic boundaries.

In her praise for Veere Di Wedding’s co-producers Rhea and Ekta, Bebo described them as being “excellent” in their methods. She further added, “Honestly, I’m not sure anyone would be patient enough to wait a year for that.”

During the same interview, Kareena Kapoor described Rhea Kapoor as one of her most intimate friends and expressed gratitude for having the producer-stylist as part of her life.

Kareena spoke highly of Rhea, sharing that when Kareena feels unreasonable in her thinking, the producer reassures her with fairness. Kareena also expressed her preference for having a wiser yet younger companion in her life.

Newcomers might not know this, but Kareena Kapoor Khan agreed to star in Veere Di Wedding around 2017. Later that year, she announced her pregnancy with her first child, Taimur Ali Khan. Kareena initially suggested casting another actress for her role, but the producers held off, waiting a full year before confirming Kareena’s involvement in the film.

Under the guidance of director Shashanka Ghosh, the 2018 movie Veere Di Wedding featured Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker, and Shikha Talsania as its primary actors. Sumit Vyas and Neena Gupta took on significant roles in the production as well.

Four friends, Kalindi, Avni, Sakshi, and Mira, experience various challenges in their personal lives. These include relationship troubles, marriage woes, family problems, and sexual issues.

The film, Veere Di Wedding, drew some inspiration from The Wedding Ringer (released in 2015, an American production). Besides Rhea and Ekta, the film was also a collaborative effort between Anil Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor, and Nikhil Dwivedi as producers.
