As a long-time fan of Dexter, I’m absolutely thrilled to hear that Michael C. Hall is not only reprising his iconic role as Dexter Morgan in “Dexter: Original Sin,” but he’s also coming back for the sequel series, “Dexter: Resurrection.” I can still remember the first time I watched the original Dexter series at Comic-Con, over a decade ago. It feels surreal that we’re getting more stories about this complex and conflicted character.
Michael C. Hall, who plays Dexter in the television series, will not only provide the voiceover for Dexter in the upcoming prequel, “Dexter: Original Sin.” He will also star in his own sequel series titled “Dexter: Resurrection” (Deadline’s announcement at Comic-Con). Hall expressed his excitement to see Patrick Gibson portray a younger version of the vigilante serial killer in “Dexter: Original Sin.”
“I’m feeling quite nostalgic. Going back to Comic-Con brings me back to my first visit, which feels like it was over 75 years ago. I can hardly believe I’m still around to experience this. I’m thrilled to see the new show and have a good idea of what to expect, having spent so much time with this character. The prospect of seeing those imaginative gaps filled in with vibrant colors is truly exhilarating.”
Chris McCarthy, Co-CEO of Paramount Global, not only surprised fans with Michael C. Hall’s comeback in “Dexter: Original Sin,” but also hinted at Hall’s return in the newly announced sequel show.
I’m ecstatic as a fan to announce that the talented Michael C. Hall will be back, reprising his unforgettable role as Dexter Morgan in Showtime’s most successful series to date. For those of us who have been loyal fans for years, “Dexter: Ressurection” is sure to deliver the thrills we’ve come to expect from this iconic show. But for those just discovering Dexter, “Dexter: Original Sin” offers a fresh start, beginning at the beginning of the story. This approach will not only attract a new audience but also keep existing fans satisfied.
In the autumn of 2006, the initial “Dexter” TV show debuted, featuring Michael C. Hall portraying Dexter Morgan, an intricate and morally ambiguous blood-splatter analyst for the Miami police department who covertly functioned as a serial killer. The recent revival, titled “Dexter: New Blood,” aimed to top the contentious finale of the earlier series by presenting yet another debatable conclusion – one in which Dexter appears to perish at the hands of his son, Harrison.
The title, “Resurrection,” implies that Dexter may find a way to live on despite being shot, or perhaps he’ll continue to exist inside Harrison’s mind as his “Dark Passenger.”
