‘Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance’ Is Coming to Netflix in Fall

As a long-time fan of the Gundam universe, I can hardly contain my excitement as Netflix unveils the latest addition to the franchise: “Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance.” With a deep breath and a nostalgic sigh, I recall the countless hours I’ve spent watching and re-watching the iconic series that came before. The One Year War, a pivotal moment in Universal Century history, unfolds once more through the eyes of Zeon’s Red Wolf Squadron.

In the latest Netflix announcement trailer, it’s confirmed that “Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance” is set to debut on the platform in October.

Set in the Universal Century 0079 timeframe of the Gundam storyline, this fresh take focuses on the One Year War’s European battlefront perspective. Join Red Wolf Squadron, a Zeon unit, as they experience the conflict unfold from their point of view. (Official synopsis: In the Universal Century 0079 timeline, the One Year War between the Earth Federation and the Principality of Zeon rages on. This new series follows the European front of the conflict through the eyes of Red Wolf Squadron, a distinguished Zeon unit.)

At first, Zeon soldiers take control with their advanced invention, the mobile suit, but they struggle to completely take over Earth, resulting in a long-term deadlock.

After eleven months of fighting in the war, Federation Forces seized control of a base once held by Zeon in Eastern Europe that had been occupied. In retaliation, a battalion made up of Zeon’s composite forces was sent to recapture the base. Included within this group were Solari and her Red Wolf Squadron, a recently arrived mobile suit team from outer space. Which faction will ultimately prevail?

In this freshly created animation series from SAFEHOUSE, Sunrise, and Bandai Namco Filmworks, a total of six episodes have been produced using Unreal Engine 5 for seamless animation.

Above, you can find the newest trailer for “Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance.” This series will be available for streaming on Netflix starting October 17.
