'The Boys' Receives Prequel Series Starring Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash

As a hardcore fan of The Boys since its inception, I can’t contain my excitement about the upcoming prequel series, Vought Rising. The announcement at Comic-Con was like a dream come true! I’ve always been fascinated by the origins of the Vought corporation and Soldier Boy’s backstory, so delving deeper into that world is a tantalizing prospect.

The prequel to “The Boys” on Prime Video, named “Vought Rising,” will focus on the characters Soldier Boy and Stormfront. This new series is set in the 1950s in New York City.

At the San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend, Eric Kripke, creator of the original show, and executive producer Paul Grellong, along with actors Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash, unveiled plans for a new spin-off series based on “The Boys” universe. In a panel discussion, they shared their excitement about this dark and intriguing project. The upcoming show promises to be a gripping murder mystery set in the 1950s, revealing the origins of Vought and Soldier Boy, as well as exploring the sinister machinations of Stormfront, formerly known as Clara Vaught. Ackles will reprise his role as Soldier Boy, originally created by Frederick Vought during WWII, while Cash will continue to portray Stormfront. Kripke and Grellong expressed their eagerness to shock and disturb audiences with this grisly and blood-soaked tale filled with Compound V.

Additional offshoots are planned, such as “The Boys: Mexico,” which will be overseen by executive producers Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal. Furthermore, the second installment of “Gen V” is set to arrive.
