After helping his team bring home another Super Bowl trophy in February, Kelce took some time for himself and traveled the world with his girlfriend, Taylor Swift. I was thrilled to see him pop up in the crowd at her Eras Tour multiple times, and even more excited when he made a surprise appearance on stage!
As a passionate gamer and avid fan, I’m thrilled to be part of the unique convergence happening at Missouri Western State University. The energy is palpable as Chiefs fans from across the country gather here to support their team during Kansas City Chiefs practices. And what makes this experience even more special? Taylor Swift fans, or Swifties as we call them, are also in attendance, united by their love for Travis Kelce and his team.
I have a strong passion for both football and Taylor Swift’s music. It’s fascinating to see their fan bases intersect in such an unexpected way.
When Taylor Swift initially attended football games at Arrowhead Stadium with Travis Kelce, not everyone was on board right away. Some fans, referred to as “dads, Brads, and Chads,” believed that Swift’s presence was negatively impacting their football experience. However, other fans, particularly girl dads, enjoyed the unique bonding moment between Swifties and Kelce. Regardless of your opinion, the Swifties’ fanbase shows no signs of waning. They showcased their dedication by journeying from various parts of the country for the Kansas City Chiefs’ training camp. A team from Dallas, Texas, arrived via plane, while Hannah Calhoune, who is 16 years old, persuaded her parents to drive from Lexington, Kentucky. Hannah’s mother, Alison, seemed content to oblige.
I adore Taylor, and I believe she sets an excellent example. Consequently, I’m thrilled that my daughter can look up to her as a role model. So, we decided, “Why not? Let’s head out and watch Travis Kelce perform live.”
At the Chiefs’ training camp, the excitement was already palpable following their back-to-back Super Bowl triumphs. However, the arrival of the Swifties added an extra burst of energy. Dressed in custom jerseys and waving posters, they brought along friendship bracelets to share. Longtime Chiefs fan Kelli Anderson appreciated their enthusiasm. She expressed, “The support from the Swifties has been a wonderful surprise.”
I find it incredibly exciting that he’s generating a lot of buzz for Kansas City, and I adore how well they complement each other. It’s wonderful to see the Chiefs gaining recognition from the global audience.
Approximately one year ago, during the notorious “New Heights” episode, Travis Kelce disclosed that Taylor Swift had declined to meet him following her concert in Kansas City. He had crafted a friendship bracelet with his phone number for her at that time. Since then, this unexpected encounter has transformed football season into an even more significant experience.
The Kansas City Chiefs will begin their preseason games on August 10, followed by the start of the regular season on September 5. In the meantime, Taylor Swift continues her Eras Tour and keeps fans engaged with new projects.
