FX Picks Up ‘Snowflakes’ Comedy from ‘Tonight Show’ Duo, Nick Kroll

As a dedicated fan of FX’s innovative and hilarious lineup, I couldn’t be more thrilled about their latest addition to the family: “Snowflakes.” This ensemble comedy, following a group of quirky and flawed twentysomethings trying to navigate the complexities of adulthood, is right up my alley. With a talented cast featuring Malik Elassal, Lucy Freyer, Jack Innanen, Amita Rao, and Owen Thiele, I’m confident we’re in for another winning combination of relatable humor and captivating storytelling.

FX, which is about to say goodbye to one of its comedies, is adding another to its lineup.

An ensemble comedy titled “Snowflakes,” owned by Disney and produced by them, has received a series order. This show follows a team of roommates who strive to be good individuals, even though they aren’t quite there yet. According to the show’s description, they are not yet ‘good’ people or fully developed ‘people.’

A pilot for a new series, ordered by FX in January, is being developed by FX Productions and writers Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw, who also contribute to “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” Nick Kroll, executive producer of the show with a first-look deal at FX Productions, as well as Jonathan Krisel, co-creator of “Baskets,” and Stefani Robinson from “Atlanta” and “What We Do in the Shadows,” are among those overseeing the project. The five main characters, all in their twenties, are portrayed by Malik Elassal, Lucy Freyer, Jack Innanen, Amita Rao, and Owen Thiele.

“Nick Grad, president of FX Entertainment, is thrilled about the exceptional cast and comedy team we’ve gathered for ‘Snowflakes.’ This brings us the exciting opportunity to present Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw’s witty humor to our viewers for the first time. Moreover, we are delighted to collaborate once more with Nick, Jonathan, and Stefani, who have all proven their comedic talents in previous FX shows.”

As a long-time fan of FX’s unique and quirky lineup, I’m finding myself both excited and a little sad as the network prepares to bid farewell to some of its beloved series. Having grown attached to the hilarious vampire roommates of “What We Do in the Shadows,” I can’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia as we approach the final season, set to premiere in September.

Kronengold and Shaw will serve as executive producers for “Snowflakes” together with Kroll and Van Couvering under their production company, Good at Business. Krisel will also be involved in the project, taking on the director role for the pilot, while Robinson is another producer.
