As a long-time resident of Chicago and a dedicated follower of politics, I can’t help but feel a sense of anticipation as I eagerly await the upcoming Q&A session between Donald Trump and Black political journalists at this year’s National Association of Black Journalists Convention in my hometown.
Donald Trump will engage in a question-and-answer session with Black political news reporters during the 2024 NABJ (National Association of Black Journalists) Convention and Job Fair in Chicago.
On the first day of the convention, which is July 31, a former president will have a conversation with three notable Black female political journalists about pressing issues within the Black community. The discussion will be overseen by Rachel Scott, ABC News’ senior congressional correspondent, Harris Faulkner, anchor of “The Faulkner Focus” and co-host of “Outnumbered” on Fox News, and Kadia Goba, a politics reporter at Semafor.
The gathering won’t allow public attendance, however, it can be watched live on the National Association of Black Journalists’ (NABJ) YouTube and Facebook pages.
The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) has extended an invitation to Kamala Harris, who is currently the presumed Democratic presidential nominee, to attend their convention. However, it’s still undecided if the Vice President will be able to participate due to scheduling conflicts or other commitments.
“NABJ President Ken Lemon expressed excitement in a statement on the website about former President Trump addressing important matters valued by NABJ members and their audiences. Although NABJ doesn’t support political figures as a journalism entity, we acknowledge the significance of our journalists’ work. We seize this chance to put forth thought-provoking queries that will yield truthful responses essential for Black Americans.”
