Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Campaign Won’t Be a Waste of Time

As a long-time Call of Duty fan, I can’t help but feel excited for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and its promised single-player campaign. After being let down by Modern Warfare 3’s disappointing campaign mode, it’s refreshing to hear that Treyarch is focusing on delivering a high-quality, varied experience.

In the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, players can anticipate another engaging single-player storyline following the letdown experienced by fans with Modern Warfare 3’s campaign. Although the game might not have an extensive narrative, it’s important to remember that we’re talking about a Call of Duty title, and Activision Blizzard has promised to pack a lot of diversity into this compact storyline.

According to Yale Miller, the production head at Treyarch, gamers can anticipate a standard Call of Duty campaign duration for this edition. While Miller didn’t disclose the specific length of this mode, traditionally, campaigns in this series run approximately between 4 to 6 hours.

In Black Ops 6, although the campaign may not be lengthy, Miller assured gamers of an abundance of diverse experiences, filled with thrilling action sequences. This likely implies that new maps will feature in the game instead of repeats from Warzone. The absence of reused maps was a significant complaint about Modern Warfare 3’s meager single-player content.

1. Miller stated, “They aren’t seeking a single type of experience for you. Fortunately, Black Ops offers such diversity that you can embark on heist missions, solve puzzles, engage in stealth operations, and even participate in large-scale military invasions. While they desire a lot of flexibility and numerous options, they also crave the excitement of roller coaster rides. I believe our main objective is to provide players with the chance to show intelligence rather than just leading them on a predetermined journey. They should have the freedom to explore and choose their own path through each situation.” (89 words)

During a time when consumers seek value for their money, proposing a $70 price tag for a 6-hour campaign may raise some eyebrows. However, the appeal of Black Ops 6 lies primarily in its multiplayer experience, which fans can enjoy with their friends. At the very least, the campaign appears to be well-made and could serve as a benchmark for future games.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is coming to PS5, Xbox Series, and PC on October 25.
