‘Something Only Dreams Are Made Of:’ Of Course Channing Tatum’s Sweet Wolverine Post With Hugh Jackman Is Spurring The Gambit Conversation Again

As a long-time Marvel fan and avid gamer, I can’t help but feel elated by the recent release of “Deadpool & Wolverine.” My heart skipped a beat when Channing Tatum made his unexpected cameo as Gambit in this wildly successful threequel. It was a moment that brought back memories of the past and canceled projects, making it all the more exciting for us fans.

Spoilers ahead for Deadpool & Wolverine.

1. It’s an exciting era for Marvel Cinatic Universe (MCU) enthusiasts, as the highly anticipated team-up of Deadpool and Wolverine has been a massive hit. Over the years, many fans have followed the Marvel films in chronological order, and the third installment of Deadpool paid tribute to previous and abandoned projects. The cast of Deadpool 3 featured numerous surprise appearances, such as Channing Tatum playing Gambit. His recent sweet posts with Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds are reigniting discussions about Gambit once more.

I once had the thrill of joining the dynamic duo of Deadpool and Wolverine in an unexpected way. That’s right, I’m talking about Channing Tatum’s unforgettable cameo. The twist? He had never even played Gambit before! You see, back in 2015, he jumped on board to bring the X-Man to life. But unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned and the project got stuck in development limbo. Fast forward to 2019, and poof! The long-awaited Gambit project was scrapped.

1. Isn’t that thrilling! The San Diego Comic-Con presented some breathtaking drone displays, even featuring characters from Deadpool and Wolverine. Channing Tatum was there, appearing on stage alongside his fellow actors for Deadpool 3, which sent the crowd into a frenzy. According to Tatum, working with Jackman is an experience that feels like living one’s dreams.

However, the 44-year-old actor’s expressions of gratitude for landing the role of Gambit didn’t cease there. Previously, Tatum reminisced about marketing his ill-fated movie at Comic-Con a decade ago. Additionally, he shared a lengthy Instagram post about Ryan Reynolds, which you can read below:

Although his part in Deadpool 3 wasn’t substantial, seeing Channing Tatum don the Gambit costume undeniably held significant value for the Magic Mike star. With his impressive portrayal of hurling kinetically charged cards at adversaries during the climactic battle, viewers are eagerly anticipating the possibility of him reprising the beloved X-Man in future projects. Some enthusiasts are clamoring for a Gambit film, while others desire to witness him in a live-action X-Men movie within the MCU.

I can only speculate about the future of Gambit and Tatum’s involvement in the X-Men franchise, as Marvel Studios has been notoriously secretive about their plans for mutants. It’s a possibility that we may never see Tatum reprise his role again, but his portrayal of Gambit in the comic book-accurate suit was nothing short of epic in “Deadpool 3.” His accent added an extra layer of humor that left me in stitches throughout the movie. Regardless, it’s clear that Tatum is proud of his contribution to this record-breaking blockbuster.

The recently released Marvel movie is a huge success and making money at the box office. Moving on, the next Marvel film to be shown in theaters is Captain America: Brave New World, scheduled for release on February 14th. In the interim, take a look at the upcoming movie releases in 2025.
