Freedom at Midnight FIRST Drop: Nikkhil Advani's series promises to convey part of 'history you should know'

As an obsessed fan of Nikkhil Advani and Indian history, I can hardly contain my excitement for his latest collaboration with Sony LIV, “Freedom at Midnight.” The first drop of this electrifying series has sent waves of anticipation through the internet, and I’m right there with it!

As a long-time fan of Nikkhil Advani’s work, I am thrilled to see his continued collaboration with Sony LIV. His latest project, “Freedom at Midnight,” marks another significant step in their partnership, building upon the success of their previous series “Rocket Boys.” Having been captivated by “Rocket Boys” and its exploration of the lives of Dr. Homi Bhabha and Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, I can’t help but feel excited for what’s to come from Nikkhil’s latest offering. The anticipation is palpable among the online community, and as a viewer, I can’t wait to see where this new series takes us.

Freedom at Midnight Drop 1 Out

1. The viral video showcases a gathering where the Congress working committee discusses choosing the first Prime Minister. In this meeting, Pawan Chopra as Maulana Azad announces Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, played by Rajendra Chawla, as the preferred candidate. But before anyone can react, Chirag Vohra as Mahatma Gandhi storms in, extolling Sardar Patel with his words, yet secretly slips in a document titled ‘Withdrawal of Nomination Form for Vallabhbhai’.

Mahatma Gandhi believed that while India needed Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in the Congress Party, the country should have Jawaharlal Nehru as its first prime minister (Siddhant Gupta). The captivating video ends with the tagline, “Discover untold stories from India’s freedom struggle. Unravel the unknown history. Watch the trailer here:-“

More about Freedom at Midnight

As someone who has always been fascinated by world history, I am truly excited about the upcoming television series based on “Freedom at Midnight” by Larry Collins and Dominique Lapierre. This book holds a special place in my heart due to its deeply moving account of one of the most significant events in human history – the emergence of India and Pakistan as sovereign nations.

1. “Freedom at Midnight, a production financed by Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani of Emmay Entertainment, has been penned down by Ethan Taylor, Divya Nidhi Sharma, Gundeep Kaur, Adwitiya Kareng Das, Revanta Sarabhai, and Abhinandan Gupta. The release date for this series is yet to be announced with Nikkhil Advani serving as the showrunner.”

For those not familiar, as mentioned by SonyLIV’s Executive Vice President and Business Head Danish Khan to Deadline, “Freedom at Midnight” is SonyLIV’s costliest and most ambitious project to date due to the large cast and prominent lead actors.
