Activision doubles down on war against cheaters after MW3 Game Pass spikes

Activision doubles down on war against cheaters after MW3 Game Pass spikes

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say the recent turn of events in Modern Warfare 3 has been quite the rollercoaster ride. The influx of free Game Pass users has indeed opened the floodgates for a wave of cheaters, making the multiplayer experience more akin to a warzone than a game.

Over the past week in Modern Warfare 3, CoD enthusiasts have been describing the intense gameplay as nothing less than a “living hell.” This is largely due to Xbox Game Pass offering free accounts, which seems to have opened the floodgates for cheaters, swamping the game with their illegal hacks.

Although unscrupulous players are causing trouble for multiplayer gamers by using wallhacks and aimbots, Activision is taking action by intensifying its efforts to combat hackers. In fact, they’ve teamed up with Microsoft to retaliate against these issues head-on.

Activision confirms RICOCHET anti-cheat detection is fixed after Game Pass blunder

Activision has acknowledged a problem with their RICOCHET anti-cheat system, which wasn’t correctly identifying Game Pass players. But don’t worry, they’ve fixed it! Now, both existing and new users will once more need to face off against this software.

Over the weekend, RICOCHET Anti-Cheat fixed a problem within its detection system, leading to a surge of cheater reports, as stated by the publisher on their updated Twitter account.

“We continue to stand firm against cheaters, closing down cheat sellers, and ensuring our players enjoy a balanced and enjoyable gameplay” is one way of paraphrasing the given statement in natural and easy-to-read language.

24 hours ago, Activision managed to shut down two major cheating service providers’ sites, following their earlier takedown of the largest domain this year.

Activision fixes Game Pass platform icon issue

As a passionate gamer, I’m thrilled to share that we’ve rolled out an update to enhance the gaming experience for both Xbox and PC players using Game Pass! The in-game icons on the User Interface have been tailored now to make them distinct between the two platforms, ensuring a smoother gameplay for everyone. #MW3 #Warzone

As a gamer, I’ve found myself in situations where I question who’s really behind the screen when someone’s playing on Game Pass using a PC. You see, it’s easy for hackers to masquerade as Xbox users because, even on a computer, the game icon they control shows a console instead of a PC, making it hard to tell them apart from genuine console gamers.

As a longtime gamer with years of experience playing across various platforms, I can confidently say that this update from Activision is a much-needed improvement for players who are using Game Pass on both Xbox and PC. The differentiation of in-game UI icons will not only enhance the gaming experience but also make it easier to distinguish between the two platforms, thereby reducing confusion and potential errors. As someone who has experienced the frustration of mistaking one platform’s icons for another, I am excited about this update and can’t wait to see how it improves my gaming experience.

The issue of hackers gaining accessibility persists, as they no longer need to purchase Modern Warfare 3; instead, they can utilize free Game Pass trials to immediately re-enter the game. Perhaps it’s necessary to enhance the hardware ban with RICOCHET technology before Microsoft’s flagship Black Ops 6 is released.
