HBO Blames "International Third-Party Distributor" for 'House of the Dragon' Season 2 Finale Leak

As a dedicated fan who has patiently waited for each episode of House of the Dragon, I must say, this leak incident feels like a dragon breathing fire into my heart instead of the excitement it should be. Having followed the series since its debut, I’ve grown accustomed to the thrill of waiting for the next installment and the suspense it brings.

HBO has addressed the recent leak involving the Season 2 finale of House of the Dragon.

In a public announcement, HBO admitted that the leaked clips were accidentally shared by an overseas vendor. They are actively working to take down these clips online, and viewers can catch the full episode this Sunday night exclusively on HBO and HBO Max.

According to Variety, the source of the leak was a TikTok account that uploaded 14 different videos totaling approximately 30 minutes of footage from the season finale. The account was banned about three hours after the initial posts, but the videos spread to other social media platforms like X (previously Twitter) and reddit. Extra details, including the identity of an international third-party distributor, were also disclosed.

The House of the Dragon Season 2 finale is set to hit HBO and Max on August 4.
