As a dedicated follower of Taapsee Pannu’s career, I must admit that her journey in the post-pandemic era has been nothing short of rollercoaster ride! From two films a year to over ten releases, it seems like life has thrown an unexpected curveball at our favorite actress.

Taapsee Pannu is preparing for the release of not one but two movies in August 2024 – Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba and Khel Khel Mein. It’s worth mentioning that these films will be her 10th and more releases since the post-pandemic period. In a recent chat, Taapsee shared that she initially intended to star in just two films per year. However, she also acknowledged that having her upcoming movies come out one after the other wasn’t something she had hoped for.

In an interview with The Indian Express, Taapsee Pannu disclosed that her 2021 romantic thriller Haseen Dillruba had originally been scheduled for release in 2020, coinciding with her film Thappad. Unfortunately, this didn’t come to fruition due to the lockdown imposed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Taapsee mentioned, “When Haseen Dillruba premiered in 2021, I had intended to star in two films annually. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, I could only take on one film (in 2020), and subsequently, a series of projects accumulated and ended up being released all at once!” She clarified that this situation didn’t align with her original plans and may give the impression that she was taking on numerous films, which wasn’t the case.

Taapsee herself revealed that her long-awaited projects had finally been wrapped up, thanks to the 2023 release of the hilarious drama Dunki, where she got to work alongside the legendary Shah Rukh Khan. Now, here’s the best part – she announced that only two films of hers will grace our screens every year from now on! Can you believe it? I can hardly contain my enthusiasm for the amazing cinema ahead!

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but feel elated as I eagerly anticipate Taapsee’s upcoming films, Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba and Khel Khel Mein, both dropping in August 2024! Despite her initial reservations, expressing it as the “other extreme,” she admitted, “I have two movies, but they are back-to-back – something I didn’t wish for!” However, she found solace in the fact that one will be streaming on OTT platforms while the other graces the big screen, ensuring there’s no overlap in their spotlight.

She pointed out that the movies she’d been in spanned various genres and the roles she played were distinct from one another. However, she emphasized that this wasn’t as she had planned, expressing instead, “That’s why it’s often said that life occurs when you’re occupied with making plans.”
