As a long-time fan of the gripping and authentic Western genre, I can’t help but express my sheer excitement over Taylor Sheridan’s expanding Yellowstone franchise. With each new series, he continues to assemble an impressive roster of talent that leaves me in awe. The upcoming spin-off titled The Madison, featuring Kurt Russell, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Patrick J Adams, promises to be another captivating addition to the saga.

Taylor Sheridan is preparing his next series in the highly successful Yellowstone franchise, which appears to be attracting even more prominent actors. The previously titled spin-off series, known as 2024, seems to have changed its name to The Madison. There are rumors that Kurt Russell, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Patrick J Adams from Suits might take on leading roles in this show.

As reported by TVLine, the current version of “Yellowstone” is set in modern times and revolves around Stacy Clyburn, a wealthy matriarch from New York City who travels to Montana after her husband and brother-in-law die in a plane crash. At this point, details about the series are scarce, but it appears that filming is imminent.

It’s anticipated that “The Madison” will begin filming this month on location, following closely after the second part of the original “Yellowstone” series finale. This upcoming series is the latest spin-off from the popular show that fans have been eagerly waiting for, ever since it was first announced last year. Initially, there were plans to bring Matthew McConaughey on board as the lead actor. However, it remains unclear whether McConaughey will still be considering a role in the series, or if he has been replaced by Russell instead.

Yellowstone is Concluding, but the Franchise is Still Expanding

The finale of the popular Yellowstone series may not unfold as initially planned, according to Kevin Costner, who won’t be part of the upcoming episodes. Originally, the show was expected to continue for another season or even two, but due to the uncertainty caused by Costner’s departure, it appears that the plans have undergone a swift transformation.

Despite the main spotlight being on Costner regarding the show’s finale, it’s important to note that the end of the series is not the end of the entire franchise. In addition to “The Madison,” Sheridan has numerous other shows in various stages of production, ensuring the continuation and vitality of the franchise for quite some time ahead.

The second season of the show set in 1923, which started filming in Texas, is now underway. Alongside the reappearance of Harrison Ford as Jacob Dutton and Helen Mirren as Cara Dutton, it was recently announced that Jennifer Carpenter, famously known for her role in Dexter, will be joining the cast. She will portray a character who is a U.S. Deputy Marshall with an assertive style that appears to be ahead of its time.

Landman will be Taylor Sheridan’s other upcoming series of interest to Yellowstone fans, even if it is not directly connected to the Duttons or the Yellowstone Ranch. The 10-episode series also comes with some hefty talent, including Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris, “an oil industry crisis manager who solves all manner of life-or-death problems in the unforgiving desert scrubland of west Texas.” Thornton will be supported by Ali Larter, Jon Hamm, and Demi Moore in one of her very rare TV appearances. Sheridan’s grasp of the modern Western is clear, and that means that audiences know exactly what to expect from his shows. With Landman set to premiere on November 17, the week after Yellowstone’s new episodes arrive, Paramount will be hoping that this series continues the creator’s successful run on the platform.
