Someone Asked Tom Hiddleston What Olympic Sport The Avengers Would Play, And It's Strangely Entertaining

As a seasoned gamer with a rich background of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) adventures under my belt, I can’t help but be captivated by Tom Hiddleston‘s imaginative take on the Olympics featuring our beloved Avengers. It’s a delightful twist to envision these powerful superheroes competing in various sports instead of saving the world from imminent destruction.

2024 Paris Olympics is nearing its end, and it’s been a star-studded event with numerous Hollywood celebrities gracing major events. As athletes strive for gold, silver, and bronze medals to showcase their prowess on the global stage and represent their nations, one can only imagine how spectacular the games would be if the Marvel Cinematic Universe were part of it, courtesy of Tom Hiddleston.

Actor Tom Hiddleston, well-known for his portrayal of Loki since 2011’s “Thor” movie, shared his thoughts about which Olympic events the Avengers might participate in. You can watch a fun video about this on BBC Sport’s Instagram page.

As a lifelong fan of Marvel comics and movies, I must admit that the idea of Tom Hiddleston competing in the Olympics as Loki is absolutely intriguing to me. Having grown up reading about these iconic characters, seeing them brought to life on screen has been a dream come true for many fans like myself. However, I find it hard to imagine Loki, who is known for his mischievous and chaotic nature, supporting the Avengers in any capacity, especially as a member of an athletic team. It would be fascinating to see how the writers and directors could twist this concept to create a unique and entertaining storyline that stays true to Loki’s character while also showcasing his physical abilities. Overall, I think it’s a bold and creative idea that has the potential to captivate audiences and add another layer of excitement to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As a long-time fan of Marvel movies, I can confidently say that Chris Evans’ portrayal of Captain America and Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk have been two of my favorite characters. Recently, I came across an interesting theory suggesting that Ruffalo’s Hulk “just wants to throw things to the other side of the stadium.” I must admit, this idea resonated with me, as it seems to capture the raw, primal instincts that drive the Hulk’s actions.

Tom Hiddleston playfully suggested Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine character as a rower for a competition, showing his affection for both actors and their roles, especially after expressing interest in a Loki-Wolverine or Charlie Cox’s Daredevil interaction recently. In Tom’s imagination, if Loki were to compete in the Olympics, he would excel at High Jump – an event that will take place on August 7th and 10th during the ongoing games in Paris, as it has not yet started.

Tom Hiddleston presents an intriguing scenario: What if Captain America and Black Panther were to compete in the Men’s 400m race? It’s hard to say who would emerge victorious, but given Steve Rogers’ endurance in his prime, he might just have a slight advantage as he claims he “could do this all day.” The Men’s 400m races kick off this week, starting with Round 1 on Sunday. If Wakanda were a real country, we wouldn’t be surprised if they dominated the track and won gold medals in abundance!

Tom Hiddleston once envisioned Iron Man as a high jumper, yet he swiftly proposed that Tony Stark would never participate, instead keeping his distance from the track. However, it was recently revealed at SDCC that Robert Downey Jr., who played Iron Man, will reprise his role in the MCU as Doctor Doom. This has sparked curiosity about how Doctor Doom and Loki might interact given Downey Jr.’s past as an Avenger. We’re definitely looking forward to seeing him as Doctor Doom, but we have many questions swirling around in our minds.

Hiddleston also said Black Widow would be a gymnast and Thor would throw around his hammer. Of course, the actor forgot that Hawkeye would own the Archery competition!

As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t help but feel pumped about the news that we’re heading towards the release of Avengers: Doomsday in 2026! With this epic showdown on the horizon, it seems like our favorite superheroes might want to start training like Olympic athletes or maybe even consider adding a few Olympians to their team. The stakes are high, and I can only imagine what incredible feats they’ll accomplish before taking on such an imposing challenge!

If you haven’t been following yet, here’s a guide on watching the ongoing 2024 Paris Olympics this week.
