Watching Varun Dhawan revisit the classic Raja Babu in theaters is not just a nostalgic trip down memory lane, but also a testament to the timeless charm of Govinda’s comedy.
In 2020, Varun Dhawan, who would later appear in Nitesh Tiwary’s Bawaal in 2023, starred in a remake of his father David Dhawan’s film Coolie No 1. The original movie featured Govinda and Karisma Kapoor as the main characters. More recently, Varun attended the theater screening of Govinda’s 1994 film Raja Babu, as the movie was re-released.
On August 5th, Varun Dhawan posted a preview on his Instagram story of watching the movie “Raja Babu” in a theater. The clip showcases a scene from the film where Govinda is sporting sunglasses and showing off his navy-themed look during a photoshoot.
Varun mentioned the movie title and added fireworks emojis in his Instagram story.

Apart from that, he additionally gave a peek at two more instances from his time watching Raja Babu in the cinema. In one of his latest Instagram posts, you can see Govinda and Shakti Kapoor dancing together to Pak Chik Pak Raja Babu.
Actor from Badlapur shared posts featuring Govinda and wrote, “Govinda is returning to movies #RAJABABU.” He also shared a sneak peek of Karisma Kapoor in her upcoming film, where she can be seen dancing with Govinda on the movie screen.

Not long ago, the multiplex chain posted on Instagram that they would be screening movies such as Raja Babu, Masti, Golmaal Returns, and Partner in their theaters.
In the 1994 movie directed by David Dhawan, notable actors like Kader Khan, Aruna Irani, and Shakti Kapoor played significant parts. The central plot unfolds around a wealthy village pair who take in an orphan named Raja Singh, portrayed by Govinda.
Raja Babu develops feelings for the wealthy young lady, Madhubala, who is often called Madhu. Represented by actress Karisma Kapoor in the storyline. At first, she refuses him due to his simple demeanor and lack of sophistication.
Currently, Varun Dhawan is preparing for upcoming movies such as Baby John, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, and Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. Earlier this year, he made a guest appearance in Sharvari Wagh’s film titled Munjya.
