Uplink reportedly returning to Call of Duty with Black Ops 6

As a seasoned Call of Duty veteran with over a decade of gaming under my belt, hearing that Uplink is making a comeback in Black Ops 6 has sent chills down my virtual spine! This fast-paced, strategic mode has been a staple in competitive play since its introduction back in the Modern Warfare series.

When leaks leak, they overflow. Right after it became known that some Call of Duty jet pack-era maps were getting remastered for the first time, it appears that their game modes are doing the same.

In a forthcoming development, Black Oops 6 is planning to re-introduce some advanced multiplayer maps from the past, like Fringe (originally seen in Black Ops 3). This revival complements the continued emphasis on futuristic weaponry and accessories as seen in Modern Warfare 3. Recently, there’s been a buzz about the return of an iconic futuristic game mode in Call of Duty, as evidence suggests that Uplink has resurfaced within Black Ops 6 data files.

Based on recent findings, it appears that symbols associated with Uplink have been discovered within the files of Black Ops 6. Additionally, the forum “CoDWarfareForum” has suggested that various voice lines seem to indicate the game mode, such as “Transmit the satellite or hold out until time runs out,” and “Sudden Death. The one who uploads next wins.”

In this rephrased version, let’s call it Uplink: The game consists of two teams competing over a ball and two targets. They battle for control of the sphere, passing it among themselves to advance. The traditional shooting method still applies, except that the player carrying the ball must navigate through defensive lines before getting an opportunity to shoot towards the target (goal), which can be considered as a satellite in this context.

In all the installments of Call of Duty labeled as “boots-on-the-ground,” Uplink has never made an appearance. Instead, it’s been paired with games that include exosuits, allowing players to effortlessly score goals in a holographic environment.

The preferred third game mode for competitive players, Uplink, will bring delight to many ears, as it is set to join Hardpoint and Search and Destroy in Ranked and Pro play. Notably, Uplink surpasses Control and previous favorites such as Capture the Flag and Domination in popularity among these circles.
