As a long-time romance enthusiast who has spent countless hours binge-watching rom-coms and swooning over Emily Henry‘s novels, I can hardly contain my excitement about the upcoming adaptation of “Happy Place.” The fact that Leila Cohan, the brilliant mind behind some of Bridgerton’s most memorable moments, will be writing and showrunning this series is nothing short of a dream come true.

Combine universes, you say? As a hopeless romantic, I’m constantly captivated by heartwarming romances, eagerly anticipating the next season of Bridgerton, engrossed in romance novels, and devouring any scraps of information about the screen adaptations of Emily Henry’s literature. Well, the news we’ve received lately has been quite thrilling, intertwining all these interests! The adaptation of Emily Henry’s Happy Place, spearheaded by rom-com queen Jennifer Lopez, has brought on board talented individuals from Bridgerton to write and manage the project. This development has left me utterly speechless.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but feel a sense of pride knowing that Leila Cohan was instrumental in Bridgerton’s first season as a co-executive producer and writer. In 2021, her team’s exceptional work on the Netflix romance series even earned them an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Drama Series – quite an achievement!

Apart from “Bridgerton”, Cohan has also created episodes for shows like “Santa Clarita Diet”, “The First Wives Club”, and “Awkward”. Her versatility is evident from the diverse range of projects she’s worked on.

In a nutshell, “Happy Place” is a tale of second chances in romance, focusing on the characters Harriet and Wyn. Despite having been apart for quite some time, they’ve managed to keep their separation hidden from their friends. The narrative unfolds as they embark on a trip with their companions, feigning a relationship. This makes for a complex storyline that explores love, heartache, and friendship – all elements that could make for an engaging TV series! Add a dash of the charm found in “Bridgerton”, and it promises to be even more captivating!
