As a long-time Marvel and KITH enthusiast, I must say this collaboration has been nothing short of electrifying! Growing up with a stack of Marvel comics and KITH gear, I never imagined seeing these two iconic brands come together. The attention to detail on each piece, from the Infinity Gauntlet Varsity Jacket to the Marvel character caps, is simply breathtaking.
In July, Ronnie Fieg announced that KITH would join forces with Marvel for a second time, showcasing five collaborative ASICS designs inspired by legendary Marvel characters. The initial phase of their 2024 project was launched, offering six color options of an Infinity Gauntlet-themed varsity jacket together with a unique Infinity Gauntlet Paperweight as part of KITH’s weekly drop. Now, the full KITH x Marvel 85th Anniversary Collection is revealed before its upcoming release this week.
On the clothing part, there’s a wide variety of summer-appropriate choices available. These span from trendy tees featuring KITH’s iconic logos to unique graphics, along with character caps. But that’s not the only thing KITH offers for fans; they also have eye-catching knitwear and pullovers inspired by Marvel’s distinctive visual style.
In keeping with their distinctive style, KITH has partnered with several collaborators to create accessories and footwear as well. Previously discussed is the sneaker collection, which includes the ASICS GEL-KAYANO 14, GT-2160, and GEL-1130, each dedicated to characters like Silver Surfer, Spider-Man, Venom, Green Goblin, and Magneto. The designs on these shoes not only reflect their respective themes but also feature the character’s artwork on the inner soles. The Spider-Man and Venom ASICS GT-2160 pairs will be sold as a set, while the others will be available individually. Furthermore, KITH and Marvel have collaborated to produce a comic book collection, with buyers of these shoes receiving rare editions of various comics. Some of these comics will even be graded by PSA, a first in their history of grading comics, making this an exciting opportunity for collectors.
In other locations, Modernica was commissioned to create a unique version of their Fiberglass Shell Chair, adorned with Marvel comics artwork from the archives. This rare item bears both the “KITH Universe” logo and KITH Home plaque on its base. Furthermore, KITH and Marvel collaborated with Haydenshapes to construct a surfboard inspired by the Silver Surfer comic character.
