As a die-hard Adam Sandler fan, I’m absolutely thrilled by the trailer for his long-awaited return to stand-up comedy after six years! The warmth and love he exudes are palpable, making me even more eager to see this special.
The star will be showcased in a trailer that was unveiled on Wednesday for his upcoming Netflix special titled “Adam Sandler: Love You”. This project is slated to premiere on Netflix on August 27, and it’s directed by Josh Safdie, who previously collaborated with Sandler on the movie “Uncut Gems”, which they co-directed with Safdie’s brother Benny in 2019.
The trailer for “Love You” showcases clips of Adam Sandler expressing his affection by saying “I love you” in different styles on stage. At one point, he declares, “You are all amazing! I love you,” and at another, he expresses, “I love you. I need you. Can you help me?”
Afterward, I step forward to wrap up my act for the audience. “Well, as you may have noticed, I tend to chat quite a bit before breaking into song,” I joke. “Alright, let’s get started then.” Later in the clip, I can be seen strumming on a guitar.
Netflix posted the video on Instagram, accompanied by the caption, “Here’s the long-awaited comedy special!”

Since his comedy special “Adam Sandler: 100% Fresh,” released by Netflix in October 2018, this is the first stand-up special from Sandler. Notably, he has also worked with Netflix on films like “Spaceman,” “You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah,” and “Murder Mystery 2,” as well as the animated movie “Leo” during this period.
Sandler embarked on a nationwide journey for his 25-city “I Missed You” comedy tour, which began in October last year.
