For Nike SB, the SB Dunk Low continues to hold its throne as their most iconic shape. Recently, it was featured in a partnership with There Skateboards, and is soon expected to debut in an Oz-themed colorway later this year, possibly timed with the arrival of Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo’s Wicked production.
In previous instances, the SB Dunk Low has taken inspiration from the Oz franchise, specifically with a “Dorothy” colorway that debuted in 2015. For 2024, it appears that the shoe will feature a poppy field-inspired design, incorporating shades of orange, red, yellow, green, and black reminiscent of the scene in the 1939 film where Dorothy and The Cowardly Lion sleep in the field. Additional details include the Wicked Witch of the West on the sockliner and Dorothy’s famous quote, “There’s No Place Like Home,” emblazoned at the heel.
Currently, there’s no official announcement about the release of the Nike SB collaboration with “The Wizard of Oz,” but it’s anticipated to become available later this year on Nike SNKRS and some skate stores, starting at $135 USD.
